lupin--I love your pics
you do nice work and your duck house will be fab. you sure are a hard worker and that is what is needed on a farm..LOL

good job!

be careful of doing too much too fast. money is always tight when starting new projects and fixing up a farm...UGH--I know........regroup and take your time on extras that just mean money going out the door. Sometimes we have to just spend to take care of what we have now, then keep spending to add on...well you know what I mean...LOL

I get caught the same way on the farm. It is pay for one thing after other and after another. Money is evil but I want more of it..HA HA HA

Wow, first day back at school and it was pretty okay. Kevin started his first day at Marmora Sr. Ps today after spending most of the year at Stirling Sr. Ps. which is a 20 minute drive south toward Belleville. It was a great school, but it was really wracking up the KM's and gas dollars doing it twice a day. Also, mum has been applying to jobs this past week, and just today got a call from one of the places she applied, it's in Cobourg and was her maximum commuting distance, but it could be a full-time position for a company called ECOair. I'm not sure what they do, but if pays well then whateverrrr!

The truck costs a little bit to run, so what she'd do is save for the first two months to buy a smaller and more fuel-efficient used car, probably a Cavalier, a car that she doesn't have to worry about the KM's with unlike with the truck, which is leased.

Also, news on the boy front :) Saturday morning I got a text message on my phone from Kemp as well as a message on my Facebook, saying he was sorry for not calling but he'd forgotten my number and only just got the internet while at a relatives house, apparently he'd been trying to use the internet but doesn't have it at home, and hasn't been to see family until recently. Now, we may be getting together this coming saturday in Oshawa, the city near where we both used to live. I will be going into town with my mum, taking her to Toronto to IKEA and to my dad's work appartment, then going back to Oshawa to hang out with Kemp.

Good luck to your mom.

I'm sure your ducks will be very happy in their new digs.

Hope you have a good time with Kemp. Got to say that I love his name.

Haha, I like that name too. He was named after a friend of his parents.

I got to work on the duck house some more, I started putting sheathing on the roof of it, and the front wall is sheathed as well. I have to frame in the side walls, one of which will have the nestboxes in it.

ARGGGHHHH.

We ran out of heating oil on sunday and so our pump froze up. Anyway, we called Ultramar and they came round today to do a delivery after the hassel of setting up an account with them. They told us to shovel out our parking area so the guy could turn and just shovel at the end of the driveway, we did. Well, he came too late in the day and it had started to snow around lunch (which the weather network said it would) and left a message on the home phone saying he couldn't get up and that we'd have to have it plowed and SANDED. Well... FORGET THAT, we've already tried finding someone to plow it and gomes (our neighbour) hasn't done it in a long while. Even if Gomes plowed it, we'd still need to find someone to sand it and that is literally impossible.

So here we are, it's Tuesday... Ultramar gave us 50 litres of oil last night and we'll be out probably by morning and back to freezing temperatures again.

We have no water and no heat and soon we'll be running low on propane as well because we've been having to use it more than we usually would.

I HATE THE DAMN WINTER WEATHER, HATE. AND NOW IT'S FREAKING SNOWING AGAIN.
