These are good.

How about random names?
Or funny ones that don't imply a rating?

I can see how long someone has been on the forum by the join date, and the number of posts is right there.

How about things such as:

Gathering eggs
Picking cotton
Going to get the mail
Gathering strength
Harvesting herbs
Mending fences
Making lemonade
Slicing bread
Pulling weeds

Of just little cartoons under the user names?

I'm in the mood for some light-heartedness and good cheer about such things.

There's so much to be serious about these days. It'd be nice to have the forum be a tad zany, even if we do need each other's help.

Not to focus on ME ME ME (ha!) but just wondering if it might make sense to add to the list we've got going some titles that aren't land-specific. I think there are others like me around here, who don't really have land for gardening or farming, but are doing other kinds of things to work towards self-sufficiency. Now, if only I could think of a catchy title to sum that up. Like maybe, "Local Homebody" or something. Well, that's not so good. Somebody come up with a better one please! :D

hee hee... I guess "urban" depends on perspective. Like, I'm living in a small town of about 8,000 in the middle of nowhere, with very little going on. So to me (I just moved from a 250,000 person city) it feels like I'm very very far from urban. But then, I guess if I had a farm in the country, this town could seem urban. Hmmmm.

Yeah, I guess 8,000 isn't really very small... it just seems so small here because the town is in such terrible shape. Unemployment hovering around 18%, all the factories but one little one have closed down, the hospital closed down, lots of abandoned storefronts and homes falling apart. Makes everything feel isolated and miniscule, you know? Just so much desolation. Laundromats closed down, town liquor store packed with folks... depressing place. I suppose if I saw everyone in the town all together I'd think it was bigger, but right now. Just feels like little, disappearing, ugh.
