I wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave their lives for this country and the families who love and miss them.
Part of my 2019 reboot is stepping up my volunteer work. Our group posted close to 3,000 flags the past 3 days.
Today's cemetery used to be a big event, with multiple groups helping. I was sad on the drive home, so many of the American Legion folks we have worked with over the years are gone. The folks that showed up had no energy, none of the former zeal. Our group covered the most ground we have ever covered. Plus we went over 2 other large sections another group did, where they missed easily 20% of the veterans.
Several families stopped me (I had a unit shirt on with "STAFF" on the back to thank us. One older gentleman from the Korean War era, broke down thanking us because he feels the country doesn't care any more about the previous sacrifices made.
