Just remember, even w/the surgery, you need to keep him away from mares for awhile! If I remember correctly, it's a month. (I could be wrong though.) Hope everything goes well for him w/it. :fl
Yeah, we are going to move our mare to another farm for a month. So far it looks like we will have to keep him up for a month and walk him everyday for the month to make sure he drains ok and doesn't close up. He said he could go back to the trainer and be rode after a month if every thing goes ok. The vet said he'd give us more instructions when we pick him up.

Still haven't heard from the vet about how the surgery went. Starting to get worried.....

Hopefully, no news is good news.

Well, Em gave up and called the vet's office a couple of hours ago, they said the surgery went ok, and Gus was waking up when she called. No other info, so still don't know what all the vet ran into or if the surgery had any problems. Be a stressful night waiting to hear from the vet himself I guess.

It rained here all day, pretty hard at times, so I didn't even go outdoors except to feed and milk. I've had a really bad day health wise, was sick and weak. Maybe the rain was God's way of saying "slow down stupid!". Anyway, was a wasted day pretty much. I spent what time I wasn't laying down or in the bathroom just trying to think of ways to cut back on bills, save money and earn money while I'm building my health back up.
We've already turned off the Dish, no home phone anymore, and are staying on the kids to try and save electric. We are trying to not drive anywhere unless it's a "have-to" type thing until I can get the brakes fixed on the little truck. We have sold almost all the culls for the year on the chickens and ducks so we won't have as much to feed through the winter. The other payments we are still thinking about how to trim. I have got an old metal shed, a commercial central air unit and a few old appliances that can be hauled off for scrap and a ton of stuff we can sell in a yard sale if we ever get the sheds and stuff all cleaned out. I also decided to sell all my Indian art. I've got several pieces and they are nice, but not a needed thing and I would prefer to see the bills paid rather than enjoy them.

Anyone needing crab-apples, ours are ready. Just come and get them. I've got enough crab-apple preserves canned to make it another year so I don't need them. The pecans will be falling soon, so I've got to get everything cleaned up under the trees so I can find them when they fall. Cindi I think is coming to get some, but if they do well, even Mrs Bakeaholic and her family won't be able to use them all. :p I think the first pretty day we have that I feel good I'm going to declare a clean up day here. I've got a lot of just "stuff" laying around that needs to be washed and cleaned and put away like plastic barrels, feeders, waterers, cages, tools and such plus I really need to move the other round bales of hay and get everything weed-eated, mowed and raked. Have brush to burn and limbs to prune too.

Some friends talked us into setting up a "Gus fund" to help with his rescue, I don't know if it'll help, but it can't hurt. Anyone interested can PM me for a link, I'm not going to post it here.

Em's making baked chicken tonight with mushroom gravy and white rice. It sure smells good, I just hope I can eat after being so sick all day. I feel like I'm starving but really don't want to eat either. I'm crazy.

I hope everyone had a good day, I'm going to see if I can find a DVD I haven't watched 25 times. :D

I got crabapples out of the neighbors yard that is currently abandoned. I hate to see them wasted!!! So, I'm gonna make me some vinegar, especially since hubster tossed the last batch

HEY, if that metal shed is in okay shape and could be Rustoleum painted to work for a goat house.....Pinky might just give ya a bit of cash for it rather than scrapping it. I can come pick it up when I come for pecans and to help you clean up :p

ummm Sis? you know I throw NOTHING away. if I can't even save it it's pretty darn bad. It's one of the cheap metal ones like Pinky was talking about, but it is about 25 years old, rusty and that bad storm we had back a couple of months ago wadded it up and twisted it in knots before it blew it across the pasture and half under Terra's cabin. If you think you, her or anyone can save it you are welcome to it, but I think it would cost more to patch it up than it's worth.

Yeah, I guess so. Do you like crab apple preserves? I could mail ya a jar.... :plbb
I have no idea. I've never had them. People don't really grow them around here.
