Yes, Katie, that is exactly how it looks.

I managed to get a product at the store for goats with scours. I'm going to pull him from Ginger and feed him two "feedings" of this per the directions of the lady at the store (she seemed pretty sure). Then if it has not stopped, I will continue with the concoction at that online site, the electrolytes, and I'm tempted to try kaolin-pectin which I purchased today as well....(I was going to ask y'all first about that, it is marked cows but I like that product for other animals so bought it anyways). But the lady at the store suggested I try that first.

They also had powdered vitamins containing Vitamin B and others, so we mixed that up into the scours treatment too, that I'm giving him first.

I found out the "lamb and kid paste" i've been giving is just Wilco's version of probiotics in a container sized for dispensing for kids....so I've BEEN giving probios and was not aware. I knew it wa for digestion. So I'm going to dose everyone ELSE with that and give the moms the vitamins in their water.

Does that sound like a good plan?

I think you're doing amazing

I agree with taking the kid away from mom/milk for now until the scours stop. Keep him up on electrolytes and vitamins, but just be sure you aren't over do-ing it. The stuff you have gotten seems ok - I've really never heard of either, but we're in different parts of the USA so what I have you may not.

I wouldn't let him nurse until he's got little baby goat poops again...keep in mind he may not have actual berries like big goats do, but he shouldn't have diarreah anymore for ..... I dunno....I think 12 hours? That's what I'd do anyway.

How's the little girl doing? Does she have scours too or was it just him slinging it around?

I don't have goats, but the home made electrolytes work. I mix 6 teaspoons sugar to 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water. It rehydrates rather quickly. It works equally well on people and animals. Then you don't have to go pay for a mix and everybody has salt and sugar in the house.

For the scours, what about apple cider vinegar? I use it myself for diarrhea, food poisoning and have recomended it to others. It stops squirts in 30-45 minutes. I mix it half and half with honey and take about 1/2 cup. It can be diluted with water. Again, an inexpensive "cure" with household products.

I hope your goat babies get better.
