I have vintage Pyrex too!!!!

Do you wash yours by hand or in the dishwasher? I had a red big bowl and after several dishwasher trips it became dull and not shiny any more. :hit

I will get a pic of mine later.

I also buy the new Pyrex for refrigerator storage. I'm afraid my vintage will get broke.

I wash the vintage lids (plain or ribbed glass) in the dishwasher if I'm being lazy, but always wash the main parts by hand. I use it all, in the freezer, fridge, and oven. I figure it was made to be tough, and since it is still so common at thrift stores there's no need to worry about losing a piece. That said (touch wood) I haven't broken anything yet :)

I have lots of modern clear glass pyrex as well as the French White in the photos (bowls with lids, bread pans, and 9x13, 8x8, and 8x11 pans with lids) and it all just go into the dishwasher.

Hubs just called to say he's in court all next week for a sexual assault case. Should be over Thursday or Friday, so it won't impact our life too much as he gets the time off work by law--fortunately it doesn't even affect any big meetings at his work either so it's good that it will all be over with quickly. He's not looking forward to hearing the case though.

I haven't been called for jury duty for years! I used to get summons all the time when my son was little. It was a pain. I get the questionnaire in the mail. I ALWAYS check that I had the care of a young child and that I did not want to serve. I'd get summoned anyway. Then, I'd have to write and ask to be excused because I had the care of a young child. This was happening at least 2x a year. Finally, I got tired of it. And I wrote them a letter stating that I had the care of a young child, had stated that when I filled out the questionnaire. Then, I said that I could not afford a baby sitter, and that if I was called, I would have no choice but to bring the child w/me. I haven't been summoned since.

This reminds me of my nightmare jury duty story. ill have to put it on my journal. I'm going to look for that pyrex. The casserole dishes are so easy to clean. I love that vintage butter dish! Nice pics!

Well he got to the court house, and had to wait half an hour beyond when the trial was supposed to start because "the Justice was running behind schedule" only to find out that the reason for the delay was that a piece of evidence hadn't been submitted by the police--so now it's going to a new trial with a new jury! Very happy hubs (and 11 other jurors) this afternoon :)

I'm happy too that the rain should end tomorrow for a few days, the back lawn is like a soggy sponge and I'm worried that my garden is going to start to rot--everything was just sprouting nicely before the weekend and we've had nothing but rain since except while we were bbq-ing out on the deck last night for Father's Day dinner. It's been a nice visit with my parents as well, despite the rain and spending all weekend inside.

Hubs and I spent some time on Saturday tracking down a part to fix our 98 Ford Explorer--the defroster/heater fan stopped working. Saved some big $$$ on a repair shop :)

While we were out on the weekend I also managed to pick up 28 wide-mouth mason jars at Value Village for half regular price, and all came with rings. 7 of the jars are really cool looking, tall wide-mouth Ball jars with up to 2 1/2 cup markings and a line that says "for freezing fill to here"--never seen those before but they look cool and they were cheap so I bought them :)

Very cool jars.

So I finally made it to the post office today. After a week with your hat and scarf sitting on my entry bench. :hide

I asked to mail to Canada. The lady said no go. :idunno I guess your post office decided to go on strike this week and is not accepting packages. :barnie

She had some kind of international express with Fed Ex but it was scary expensive.

So in light of it being summer and you probably not needing the hat right away. I think I will wait to mail it. If that's ok with you?

That or if you have any ideas please let me know.

Yeah, I am waiting to send some water kefir grains to BBrooks, but must wait until the postal strike is over.
