We've been sidetracked recently a bit on building by some medical issues, digging up leaky pipes, and winter projects like clearing brush and pruning vines. But I finally finished some doors on the smaller greenhouse, and we're building a bigger coop for the chickens. Our 2nd oldest is recently out of the army and has been visiting this month, and it's so, so great to have him here!!
(Don't look too close), but here is the door and vented window for the small playhouse/greenhouse, and the beginning of the coop (all the wood was free to us...)
The start of nest boxes and storage using old wooden crates...
And the beginning of the roof:
These panels were in the clearance section of Lowe's. They are 26' by approximately 2 1/2 feet wide. They were originally around $35 a piece, but were marked down below $9 a piece. We got all the ones they had in clearance - 9 of them, and saved over $230 on the nine panels!
Lol, @baymule and @sumi! I don't know if I should tell him your comments or not. He might just leave and not finish the project here!!
He really does not need a bigger ego, although he DOES like Texas, and Sumi, he's planning on backpacking through Europe this summer, and he does look GREAT in a kilt (and YES! he does have one.) Our kids have both Irish and Scottish ancestors (as well as several other nations)
He DOES do nice work even with this project taking much longer than originally planned.
Yesterday, he and his younger brother and I took a trip where we lived the last time we lived in Alabama to pick up 100' of a wood fence that we found free on Craigslist. It was a bit of a drive but was fun going down memory lane, and we got some more very nice wood. It was raining when we got home so it's still on the truck. I'll take pictures when we unload it.
