Oh yes you spelled "Aspertame" wrong too.

Are you trying to be Self Sufficient in artificial sweeteners? Get some bees for honey
I believe Mackay is trying to share information that she believes could affect our health. Taking an active role in one's health and what one puts in one's body generally falls under self-sufficient or self-reliant practices.

As you are new here, you may not have had time to review the rules of the forum but we usually don't chastize each other on spelling, especially not in a tone that would hurt each other's feelings. This could inadvertantly be considered trolling, which you will find is frowned upon here.

The thing about thiomersal that bugs me:
Just because a compound contains an element that you typically think of as toxic does not automatically make that compound dangerous.

None of us would suggest Chlorine is a delicious health food, after all.
However, you'd be dead dead without any NaCl (table salt!) in your diet.

Not trying to throw strawmen around, just making a point that mercury toxicity and possible dangers of thiomersal are apples and oranges.
*love*

you and auntie zilla are keeping me from getting myself thrown off the board in retorts.

another gift from Monsanto!

This pdf is an interview with Dr Baylock, a medical hero of our times.
He sites studies done in Europe that show the relationship to cancer and aspertame, and so much more
Sorry But your History is wrong it was G.D.Searle not Monsanto that pushed Aspartame, Even the "interview" you posted said that, you can't blame everything on Monsanto. Oh yes you spelled "Aspertame" wrong too.

Are you trying to be Self Sufficient in artificial sweeteners? Get some bees for honey, plant Sugar Cane or Beets, go pound things in your Maple trees depending on your climate, Wine and Beer you can make yourself and it can be sweet Oh how sweet....
My understanding is that monsanto controls Serale at this time .
They are all wrapped up in it. They are connected at the hip. Monsanto created a subsidiary called the Nutrasweet company... for those people who like to critize but do not check their facts.

And I think I will now spell aspartame as aspertame forever! :gig

"Monsanto no longer makes aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in products such as Equal and NutraSweet. In 1985, Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle & Company and created a subsidiary, the NutraSweet Company, which handled both NutraSweet and Equal. In 2000, the NutraSweet Company was sold to J.W. Childs and Equal was sold to Merisant. Monsanto no longer produces or sells this product. However, many people still search our Web site for information on aspartame."

While I understand your message, please be respectful in your discussions. We don't correct each other's spelling here - we just share ideas.

Hi,

If you get a chance to see the documentary:"Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World" it gives the history of the developement of the aspartame. I think it mentioned Donald Rumsfeld as being a key player in getting it approved for the public. :idunno I didn't take notes. You can watch it on instant play on NF.
