You stirred up an old memory for me Beekissed! That is gorgeous! Reminded me of when I was a kid. We had a natural spring through our property and a long hedge of wild blackberries. I use to take a book, a glass, and a bowl, out to the back side of the pasture where the spring was, get me a glass of water, go pick me a bowl of blackberries and wash them, and sit down under the big hickory tree and enjoy my snack and a book. I sometimes stayed out there all day leaned against that old hickory in the shade, reading, and enjoying the quiet. I can almost hear your picture!!! Thanks
Dac, where did you take that? It looks like you were up on Harley Gardner's place!
Actually, folks, that is just one of the breath-takingly pretty mountain streams in this area that meander and chuckle beside all the road on which I travel. Such scenes are so commonplace around here that these natives look at you strangely when you gush about them....like..."its just a creek, don't wet yer panties!"
And you CAN hear the water and watch the diamonds shimmer where the sun hits the riffles. I never get tired of it!
That makes me feel all fuzzy, Dac...I've probably stood on the exact place on which you have stood. I'm glad we have stooded on the same place.....makes us sorta have a connection.....
Yep...stood there a time or two with each change of the seasons. I love the look of Hightown, don't you? Those pristine white buildings at that lonely crossroads. Beauty in each direction you should choose.
Did you get a look at that summer kitchen/wash house/spring house? The water from the spring shoots out the side of that building in all seasons. I bet that water is just great!
