Larry owned 3 commercial chicken houses on the next road over from me. His Dad is the man who sold me my acerage 15 years ago.

Larry bought a New Holland tractor a few months ago----and sometime today that tractor rolled over on him and killed him.

His wife went to the chicken houses at about 7 when he hadn't come home and found him dead. Alot of flashing lights at the barns but that is all over now......

I feel so sorry for him and his family. Larry was a good farmer and a great nice guy...only 56 or so. I enjoyed our chats and it is such a shame.

ugh some days right?

I'm so sorry. that's horrible. Farm accidents can be tragic.

Years ago, my uncle was working on his dairy farm. I'm not sure exactly what he was doing, but his auger was caught up and he was trying to get it unstuck. It took his arm right off. Luckily the barn was just a few steps from the house. He walked, totally in shock, to the house carrying his arm. and also luckily, (or divinely, more like it) his wife was home who quickly got him to emerge. Farmers are exposed to many dangerous things daily. It can be a very dabgerous occupation. And should be a reminder to all of us.
