Well, FC, I understand what you are saying, but honestly, I don't count calories. What I do know is if I eat a big breakfast, no matter how many calories, then I eat less later in the day, meaning dinner will be smaller. Meaning, less in my stomach just a couple hours before bed.

My glass of OJ was only a 4 oz glass, so it wasn't like I drank 8 oz's of OJ all this morning.

I've actually not felt hungry since breakfast. Only thing I have had so far since breakfast was a little bit of the left over pineapple from this morning.

Oh and a big glass of water.

Not sure what dinner is.

I did read an article today while in the waiting room at physical therapy about a lady who did the calorie counting thing. She paid attention to calories of the foods she was buying, and if she felt hungry in between meals she would have a 100 calorie snack pack.

Examples of 100 calorie snacks they gave:
1 banana
20 M&M's (which I'm trying to avoid sugar! so that doesn't help me!)
9 Potato chips
20 mini pretzels...

Basically gave tips on what junk foods (the banana was the only healthy food on the list!) that a person could eat, and it would only be 100 calories or less...

A rice krispie is 90 calories!

I'm thinking, I'd rather be eating some romaine lettuce as a snack, or an apple/orange!

I mean, even if one does the counting calories, why make those 100 calorie snacks junk food?!

Wonder how many grapes would make 100 calories??

I agree with you.

a 100 calorie snack pack of crap food is useless...LOL

they do it for those who can not do without or want to learn the true was to eat fresh...there are many out there...LOL

or if someone does want just a small snack, at least they are available.

frozen grapes are yummy

just google, calorie counter, and you will hit sites where you just "plug in the food" like 1 small bunch of grapes and the calories come up and you can be informed.....that type of thing. I love reading those sites cause they give good tips.

of course you have to read thru alot of garbage stuff, but just pick out the tips that work for you.

here is a good one

take a romaine heart....cut lengthwise in 1/2
brush with olive oil
cake on some parmesan cheese and put in very hot skillet for a moment.

wow that sucker is delish. the parm cheese melts into the romaine heart and you just eat it and crunch away....yummy and low cal big time and fills you up!!!

Cheddar cheese and Granny Smith apples make a tasty and healthy snack, too.
