So much going on. If you're reading about my conundrums on BYC about marriage, family and farming, then you know how difficult my life is right now.

I'm suffocating under pressure.

I think I need to find a way to get out from under the pressure.

We had 2 baby girl goats born Fri June 3 and 2 more (1 girl 1 boy) born 3 days later to a different mom on Monday June 6.

Here it is, one week later, and I already have someone on the way to look at buying 2 girls. Wants to take them home today, to bottle feed so they will be pets. $100 cash each.

I'm SSOOOOOO not ready yet. I wanted more cuteness time. ARGH!!

Gonna go out take pictures now.

HIYA!!!

I posted on your thread at BYC about the birthday of your goats - they sure picked an awesome day to come!

Welcome to SS! I'm sure you'll find a lot of great info here and there's a bunch of wonderful people too!

PS...a lot of us have goats, so feel free to post tons of pictures...I'm biased when it comes to goats....

Thanks, but I'm getting over it. I have 3 more goat babies, and we've decided to wait a few weeks before we post them for sale again. That gives us a little more time of cuddles.

I love going out in the evening, sitting on the huge rock in the girl goat pen, and having the three remaining babies climb all over me, nibbling my pants, my hair, my fingers, and butting my hands for petting. LOVE it!

Finally getting my butt in gear and starting the garden. I know. I'm really late. I tire easily, especially in the heat. And Thursday's supposed to hit 91. Blech.

So today, I sowed seeds out front in three LITTLE areas:
(1) old leftover corn seeds, luffa gourds, cayenne peppers
(2) old leftover corn seeds, apple gourds, jalapeno peppers
(3) old leftover corn seeds, dipper gourds, hungarian hot yellow wax peppers

Yep. Experimenting. I don't really expect the corn seeds to sprout. And wanted the gourds way away from my eating-winter squash which will be in the backyard. And the hot peppers away from my bell peppers.

Tomorrow I'm moving all my pots that I put tomato plants in, down into the fenced off garden area. Didn't do a great job putting that fence and "gate" in so will move those pots early before I let out the chickens. Then put the tomato starts into their pots, and same for bell peppers, squash and so forth.

Who knows. I might actually get it done.

Shoot. I just realized I never ate dinner.

Somebody PLEASE send me some rain!

Garage is all set up and ready for the garage sale on Saturday. Still have to get some bottled water and some baked goodies ... my son is setting up a table to sell goodies, for the profits to go for his service dog.

A few drops of rain today. Only a few. Very frustrating. Really desperately need moisture, especially with it being so hot. At least there's a little wind.

Goat babies hilarious in their playful antics.

An unbelievable wind storm last night. Heard some tractor trailers overturned on I-70 and a barn burst in.

I looked out of my son's bedroom window and saw the goats freaking in their pen. Especially the babies. Thank goodness all of the chickens were put up for the night. Couldn't do anything for the babies but since the wind was practically pulling things up, grabbed a few things, including my kid, and we headed downstairs. Played a couple hands of Uno, then it got quieter. It was over (nope, not the eye!).

And STILL not another drop of rain.

Bummer.

Glad you all are all right. Wish I could send you some of this RAIN we're having! for about 2 weeks it's been off and on...we're so backed up on haying fields it's rediculous - and it looks like we still won't be able to hay until Sunday or Monday. :/

Do you have a light or something in the goat barn? I know at Wal-mart or other cheap stores they have little battery operated lights you can hang from the ceiling. I found that my goats like a little light when it's getting nasty out there so they can see their friends.
