Hubby much better today. Like a load has been lifted. And he talked his sister into giving him his dad's upright freezer, so as soon as he brings it home this weekend, I'll be cleaning it out, plugging it in, and the next weekend we'll be visiting a local chicken processing place with 20 of our chickens. Whew ... less mouths to feed and food for us!

Sold more chickens yesterday. The guy gave us the creeps. Kept trying to buy some that were absolutely not for sale. Never did understand his name but I have his cell written down. Plan to NEVER sell to him again. So creepy that we padlocked all of our chicken coops last night!

Oh wow.
Both DH's parents were killed in an auto accident years ago. Details don't matter now, but it took 7 years (yes, seven) to settle an estate that really didn't have much money to begin with because there was no will. It was awful, all the fighting. A judge finally dicated how money was to be divided. Lawyer took one share, which he sure could have taken a lot more.

IF dad wasn't married to mom any more, you deserve a full share so GET A LAWYER....or if you just want it to be over with, get what you can, then flush 'em and forget 'em. Live your own lives and be happy.

Crazy thing for us, the SIL that I thought was creating most of the problems? Now, all these years later, everything is forgiven and forgotten and we're the best of friends.

:hugs

I know everyone would fight me getting anything when my dad passes. I'm happy with what I already have from him. He gave me the first tea set his mom ever bought with her own money!

:)

My step dad said mom gets settled first. Grandson second (with funds that his mom cannot touch). And I'm third. Dunno if that means I get anything, but I'm glad to know where I stand LOL!

I know I'm not getting anything when my mom's passes. She's already given away all of our childhood things (like barbie dolls, etc) and instead of me or my sisters being named executors, my cousin is. oh well. no big deal.

So excited about the freezer. In 2 weekends, we're taking about 20 of our black australorps to be processed so that "new" freezer's gonna be our "meat locker"!!!

Sold some more chickens yesterday, and now 2 ladies are both vying for the ones we have left to sell. AND a guy wants any eggers I have left after them.

Couldn't GIVE away chickens a month or two ago. Now I don't have enough eggers for the demand. Good spot to be in.

Hubby's at FIL's farm now. Left with a 14' truck yesterday and his sis and mom arrived not long after he did. They didnt' stay long; wanted to get into a hotel for a while. Hubby forgot to take the paperwork we found the last time we were there so I had to go through it last night and make a list of it all ... LOTS of stocks, demand note, properties, etc. Hoping the settlement his sis made him didn't include those other things I just found. Especially if they are all still valid and haven't been sold.

Awoke with a migraine yesterday so didn't get much done. Thankfully it's cooler today than it has been (since early JUNE!). We have GOT to get the chicken houses ready for cold temps! I can smell fall in the air, and we have a maple tree that looks like it's starting to turn colors (the leaves, not the tree).

I LOVE cool weather!

You and me both! I just wilt in the heat, and don't want to be outside. I'm already planning to have my garden planted in such a way that I'll be doing the majority of my canning and freezing in September.

Nice! I'm just glad tonight is so nice and cool. I'm going to finish two, if not three, more canning projects :)
