I remember years ago there were a couple of Native Americans here. Or maybe not, it's been a long day. :)

Anyways, I have been struggling with something personal for over a year now, and I think our Creator spoke to me through a bluebird today. The context is not something I want to post in the open. I have done some research on the beliefs around bluebirds, but I am having a near impossible time with an interpretation.

If someone here is knowledge and willing to discuss this in private through PM, I would appreciate it.

For those here that have known me for a long while, my religious beliefs see no conflict with exploring this. I see it as two sides to the same coin.

Thanks in advance

My maternal grandmother was high percentage Native American. Don't ask me what tribe or any other history because she really would not talk about it. I think back in her day there was some stigma or drama associated with it - at least in her mind.

BUT - Even though she wasn't a "warm fuzzy" grandmother - she is the person who instilled in me the love of nature, nurturing and gardening. She was a very 'matter of fact' person who practically demanded that we learn to respect nature more than anything else. She would cringe when someone would cut down a tree because it was so disrespectful to God and wildlife in general. She was organic before it was trendy and I try to respect her by continuing that trend in my own garden.

I do remember that she loved birds and especially bluebirds. She went to great lengths to attract them to her little place in the country. She reminded me often that bluebirds were the 'bird of happiness'. I wish she would have elaborated...

Hope you find some meaning in your encounter....and really, really hope the bluebird does symbolize happiness for you! :)

Missed you around here lately!

I had an experience with a male Raven many years ago. I was going through a VERY difficult time in my life. To make a long story short, I was sitting in the driveway on my butt, face in hands, sobbing like a baby. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a Raven walking up the driveway toward me. At the time I was so engulfed in my sorrow that I didn't pay huge attention yet. But he keeps getting closer and closer. At one point he is about 8 feet away from me. I stopped crying and slowly looked up at him. I heard him speak to me. Not like a human voice, but his voice filled my inner self. He told me not to cry and that he would help me if I would help him. And then he turned around and walked back down the driveway.

Well, this definitely piqued my interest and it took me some time to understand all that was said to me. But over the years, this bird led me on some glorious spiritual journeys that I am forever grateful for.

Any creature can be your spiritual medicine. You just need to open and let things in. You need to peel away that human veil that keeps you separate from all there is. If you wonder often, the knowledge will come.
