Need Garlic

I guess I waited to long to purchase garlic bulbs for planting?
Do you have any to sell?
I need a hard neck that can tolerate very cold winters,,, a german variety would work but others too. 1/2 to 1 pound is all I need

I might be able to pick some up for you, when I am in NY next week. There is a farm where my mother buys her produce that has excellent german garlic. I have bought it before and planted it. It usually is a nice big bulb too.
I liked it so much, I even took pictures of it last time.





I don't know, if we have extra nor how it would grow in a very cold climate. Our crop wasn't so great this summer. We have mostly italian red, and some polish red and some german red (the one I bought in NY)

Well this would be my first time planting garlic... from what I've read German is the way to go... they should manage a cold climate pretty well... and they need to be hard neck.

I"ve been told that if its real cold, like around here I have to plant them deeper than usual

If you wouldn't mind please pick me up about half a pound. PM me when you do and I will send money.

The only concern with purchasing from a market it that sometimes they spray them with something so they won't sprout... guess you could ask. Better chance that getting something from china where most of it comes from in the grocery store..... but it seems you have this local market figured out already... go for it.

This is a really nice farm. They grow most of the stuff they sell themselves, and some from other local farmers.
The garlic that I purchased there and brought back with me, grew very well here in CA.

Grew very well in CA? you mean california? everything grows well there

but the link said Schoharie Valley.. My brother lives in Schoharie, NY

I am visiting the folks. I grew up in Schoharie county.

Oh and not everything grows well in California It gets too hot here and not cold enough in the winter for many things, like blueberries and currants.
