Pita breads slathered in homemade jalapeno and cilantro hummus... I LOVE that hummus... I could eat it by the bowlful.
Will you or have you posted the recipe for your homemade hummus here at the forum?

That sounds like it's right up Doc's alley!

Edited to add:

I've been enjoying fresh from the garden sweet banana peppers this week while waiting for the tomatoes to do something...anything!!! :th

I don't think I've posted it before... I make it so that the flavour is really strong... the original recipe called for 2 cans of beans and I just use one... I'll post the original recipe first:

2 cloves garlic
2 cans (15 ounce size) garbanzo beans (chick peas), drained and rinsed
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup olive oil
3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced

Place garlic in a food processor and process until minced, about 10 seconds. Add beans, lime juice and salt. Process into a puree.

With the processor running, slowly add olive oil in a steady stream through the feed tube. Process until mixture thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Add cilantro and jalapeno and pulse throughout, about 10 seconds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature before serving
My changes:

Add a few extra cloves of garlic

Use one can of beans, and half the olive oil as well...

Don't seed the peppers, and I usually add whatever hot peppers are in the garden so technically this week it's Hungarian yellow wax pepper and cilantro hummus :) I love spicy food and I love cilantro.

I have been indulging in my homemade ice cappucino's. I freeze some goats milk in ice cube trays. then , once frozen, I put them in the blender with a teaspoon of instant coffee, (or you can use strong perked), sweetener to taste and a bit of milk ( or if you are using perked coffee, no milk) as splash of vanilla or chocolate syrup, and blend away.
