That's what we always say our favorite thing about Ireland is- no snakes! Haha

Actually, 2 years ago my husband got a deer barefoot, half awake, in our back yard on the last day of hunting season because while I was making coffee I spotted a buck eating under one of our apple trees and he ran out to get it. So no, we don't have to "go" hunting, lol. In fact we are legally allowed to get a deer on our own property without a hunting license.

We have woods at the rear of my farm, several acres (not ours) adjoin several neighbors & other large crop farms. All are posted with only one family hunting their farm which is about 80 acres. So a herd lives here. DD sees them about every AM & PM. Said a large 10 pt buck out there all the time, with some younger ones.

I love watching the does & fawns in Spring.

Everyone goes for the big bucks here... Except us. Because they taste disgusting. And we don't care about antlers. So they can keep their gamey bucks! We have no doe season in this part of the state, but we go for younger bucks!

3 does a day here and I bet I could get quota every day of hunting season from my boyfriends back porch. Hmmm...may give that a go this year.

I'll have an empty house next month, and it'll be fixed by Halloween....they come up in the back yard there too.
