WOO HOO!!!!

Now you can stop walking into a room and flipping the light switch....and then wondering why you keep doing that, lol! After Hurricane Ike and 11 or so days without power - I don't think I ever stopped flipping the light switches...:he

Lol I know!!

I did the dishes, started a load of laundry, and we are cutting pork now. I don't know what on earth I'm going to make for dinner!

Well almost done- we'll just have to grind sausage and package tomorrow night and be done! We are so sold on doing little pigs. So much easier and faster and just plain more maneagable. Now to call DH's friend about smoking!

Chickens should be quick, we have 18 and our friend has 2 turkeys and he has a friend who likes to help so the 3 of them will crank through them and all I have to do is bag and shrink wrap them. Maybe a half day's work?

Hopefully there will be a deer in there somewhere too... If DH has any luck!

Yes, he does hunt on our property. It's like a highway for deer, moose, coyotes, etc. in the brush. Tons of old apple trees too.

Power should be restored statewide by Saturday. FEMA will be arriving soon. This storm was so much worse than we all thought it would be. We are fortunate to have no damage here. There are some trees down in our woods, but nothing near the house.

DD has her doctor's appointment this afternoon, and then we need to go to the feed store. Tonight we finish the pig. Next mission is setting up a "quarantine" pen for the new does. I'm not quarantining them for health reasons, since I got almost all my goats from the same woman, but to keep them away from Clifford! It won't be a very elaborate setup since the barn is coming soon (we hope) so it'll go together pretty easily.
