Well, looks like I have claim on a pup for next year! The woman who runs DD's fiber class is breeding her working Pyr, and when I told her my DH found coyote scat and a bobcat track on our property (not so far away from my goats!) she said I just moved to the top of her list! She's a fantastic working dog, chicken safe, etc... So definitely someone I don't mind getting a pup from. Plus she lives 10 minutes away and is more than willing to help out newbies!

I don't feel so great today. Not sick just, I think my lazy person's unhealthy diet and interrupted sleep are catching up with me. Need to consider going back on a modified form of my diabetes diet, sugar really affects me. I have to get tested for type 2 diabetes in 8 weeks or so, I assume my numbers will be good but I guess you never know. Guess I could test to see my fasting numbers.... If I can find my kit.... Hmm...

Baby is starting to be more alert and less floppy and boring, lol. I love newborn cuddles but I really love when they start smiling and laughing!

Awesome congrats on being on the pup list!

DH has always said that gestational diabetes is kind of an indication that you may be more likely to get Type II. Sucks! But, if you catch it really early you can start working to prevent it ever hitting you hard. I wouldn't wish this disease on anyone - but it certainly can be managed. My DH can tell you everything NOT to do.... :( And, sleep is a bigger factor than a lot of people realize too.

Babies! Yes, so much fun when they start really interacting!

Yep one of the midwives said I am 5 times more likely to develop it!! What?? Not cool! I need to have a serious chat with my mother and my husband about cracking down on junk food. My mother is the one who started DD on junk food, I had been so particular but gave up after she introduced her to junk. I'd like to keep DD2 from ever developing a taste for the junk and slowly try to change to healthier taste buds for the rest of us.

My parents don't get it, and they are the ones who buy DD1 candy for holidays and ice cream for when she visits. I had her on plain yogurt and fruit smoothie pops.... They ruined that! Lol and DH is a junk food junkie! But he loves real food too, just need to crack down here.

I'm going to be hated soon... Lol!

DH and DD1 have been briefed, lol. They agreed to my plans.

Cabin fever today. The sun is out and it looks gorgeous from in here... But it's cold!! Boo! Maybe I'll do some garden planning or something.... Or order some cheesemaking supplies.

I'm right there with you on the food stuff! My DS10 is the healthy eater, but DS2 is all about the junk food! Fortunately he's young enough to not care too much. And, added bonus, he gets diarrhea from junk food (and too much fruit) so DH is on board with limiting junk food after potty training regressed after xmas when my kids were inundated with junk food as gifts.

I'm easing myself towards high fat low carb eating. It's time to cut carbs dramatically. I hope I'm ready. :/ I'm starting a weight loss challenge tomorrow. It's local, expensive, and few participants. When I signed up on Monday, there were <20 people registered. The risk of public shame in a small town is probably enough to keep me on track for 6 weeks?

Fear of public shame is a good motivator! I need to cut carbs also. I've always been a carb-aholic. Feel so much better when I eat better though!

DD1 is fairly good about not being picky, especially if I don't bring her shopping with me. If we don't have junk in the house, she'll eat what we do have.

I ate low carb today. First time ever. I feel really good. Well, actually, right now I feel hungry and am undecided what to eat. :D No GI symptoms today. Sugars and grains really mess up my GI system!
