I am very tired. I am also very glad my husband has been home the past few days!

Eggs and sausage for dinner, from our hens and our pig! Then back out to check on goats and hope we sleep tonight!

That sums up homesteading, wonderful home grown food and not sleeping enough some nights! But it's so wonderful when it's worth it :)

Ugh DH got a round bale today, unloaded it and it's nasty. Called the lady, who said her cows eat it that way. Yeah... Now we can't get it back in the truck so he's headed back to talk to her. If she makes us pay for another bale I'll be looking for a new supplier! Let's hope she's decent!

Ugh - that's not good! If you peel off the top layers does it get any better towards the center? It's kinda wasteful, but better than your goats eating nasty stuff and maybe you can use the outside to mulch the garden???

No good. Fingers crossed you'll get it sorted with her.

She gave us a new bale and let us keep the old one :) I'm gonna offer her $15-20 for the old one, since I wanted one for the garden anyway! She was very nice and promised to check and give us good bales from now on.

Glad that worked out. We buy round bales, he stores them for us and brings them to us one at a time. We pay $10 extra per bale.
