Stanley and Charlotte are not where I want them for a 2' snow storm but I guess I don't have a choice. They'll be fine, just had hoped to move them by now.

Pigs are so ... just so... ugh! Moving one or two to the same place is easy enough - just shake the feed bucket. But, if you're trying to get 3 or 4 cut out from a large group to put somewhere they don't want to go - it can be a pure mess! I still have to try and separate some pigs when I get home today...sigh. At least I don't have snow to worry about. Hey - build 'em an igloo!

I've yet to do that, only have had a few at a time so far! Good luck moving pigs!

@tortoise please tell me, how on earth do you keep fleeces clean? My girls have made a mess of theirs and this spring I want to modify all things built for goats, to a wooly sheep friendly set up. I think the main issue is the hay feeders, they're constantly dropping hay on themselves.

Don't care for snow....reading all the stuff, day after day, glad for you to have MY share. We don't get snow much or often here. My kind of winter.

FEM -- those pigs need to go to butcher Lotta lard there!

No raised hay feeders for wool sheep! Don't hayfork over their backs either. We feed in a floor trough just outside their pen. The fence is wood grid, functions as sanctions.

If you want them clean, then you'll probably have to jacket them. I haven't tried yet. We have "typical" fleece for this region. Manure tagging and heavy VM. Our VM is worse than most because of burdock.

Thanks, I'm afraid to jacket them because I've been warned they can felt easily. And that's not good for anyone! I shall revise their hay feeders this spring!

same reason why I haven't tried. I'd rather skirt more than risk felting a whole fleece. I felt enough when I try to wash it.

Haha oh I'm sure I'll make a mess of these but that's why I started with two sheep and two fleeces! Lol

Lol FEM I just saw your comment. Sheep lingo, goat lingo... They're so similar and so different.

Ok so my dogs are pukers. Nearly every day we've had to rush them out the door or clean up puke. Gross right? DH and I just realized neither of them has puked since we moved. Including at our temporary place, so like not once in 6 weeks. Holy cow! And I always thought it was people food. But they get more now than ever thanks to DD2 thinking it's fun to feed them from her high chair lol. The house was making them sick too! My poor doggies!

Oh man.... so glad you have really noticeable improvement! And, so glad you have the new place. It's a lifesaver - for all of you!
