Busy weekend. Birthday dinner yesterday. Today we took the dogs to TSC for their rabies shots... that was interesting. The line was long, my Alano has apparently decided she hates other dogs, and there were a bunch of dogs in line that were very uncomfortable. But the vet offered to do my chow mutt's shot in the car when I told him DH had to go grab him because he doesn't like other dogs. I SO appreciated that, he was worked up after waiting in the car for like an hour (with DH and the other dog for most of it).
Got home, I cleaned the doe pen. My back hurt before and now it really hurts. Sciatica, it's great. Ugh.
I'm so happy I got Lilly back. She's just so darn friendly! Her eyes look so much better, her hair is growing in nicely. I thank the Replamin! Patty has mites I think. I treated her for lice and it didn't work so ivermectin shot tomorrow it is. Sorry lady, I tried to avoid it!
What do you use for a dosage for ivermectin for mites? I see 3 different answers in my search... that's helpful, lol. And I lost my old goat book to see what I have done before. I feel bad because that shot hurts!
Still waiting for it to dry up here, we have a ton to do but can't do most of it yet!
Geeze, what IS my dosage for ivermectin? All my dosage info is at home in my other phone....but I want to say it's 1cc for 40 lbs for injecting? But, that might be Ivomec plus. Grrrr...
I found this and it's pretty close to what I use. I always "up" the dosage here cuz we live in parasite paradise. But, this is for Ivomec Plus which is what I use.
Thanks! I have seen 1cc/25lb, 1cc/50lb and 1cc/100lb... talk about conflicting advice online goaties! Lol
My back still hurts but I'm not limping around today at least. I'm researching sheep and goat feeds at the moment and I'm driving myself insane (again). There are exactly zero organic goat grains here, and the organic sheep grain doesn't make me happy for goats. Ca: P ratio is off. And I want to get away from sweet feed too... I do this every year or two lol!
Geeze - limping around is NOT cool. Glad it's at least a little bit better.
Good luck on the goat/sheep feed information quest. I do the same thing periodically - there's never THE perfect feed. It's gotta be harder trying to cover two species though....
