[NH Homesteader]

I'm about ready to SSS my neighbor's kid's dogs. How hard is it to keep dogs on your own property? They're darn lucky we haven't been outside any of the times they've been over here. Again just now... they stress my dogs out (and I'm pretty sure my hog dog isn't scared of a black lab so lucky we've not been out there) and they stress my livestock out. Grrr! I wish I had a couple LGD's, that'd fix them fast.

Ugh....neighbors (and their kids and dogs) can be a PIA sometimes. Even the good ones, lol!

I passed along some state statutes on nuisance barking, wandering dogs (and fines associated with such things)... and the fact that I am legally allowed to shoot them if they are attacking or "worrying" my livestock. I hope that'll do it. We'll see soon enough.

We have inherited a zillion free pallets. I'd better figure out what to do with some of them!

PALLETS!!! Awesome - I love pallets but rarely get them free. Sometimes I can talk my feed store into slipping me a couple...and there's another store where I can buy them for $2.00. Not too bad and I get to pick and choose the best ones when I pay for them.

My FIL's business has a ridiculous amount of them, and his business is very high tech, expensive and fragile things come on those pallets so they're really nice quality. Definitely going to make a summer shelter for the bucks out of some, was thinking of making the buck pen out of them but they seem rather hoppable for a goat lol!

Patty got her shot last night. She's almost dried off, I've just been milking enough to relieve pressure every few days but there's not much left so I shouldn't have to now. I'm bummed because I actually feel up to milking, but I really want her to dry off and gain some weight. So I'll be patient and wait for next year.

Me too! Also a shortage of cash to buy a doe in milk. Lol! My car is in the shop as we speak! And no more goat purchases until after we get DH's bees next year. His truck needs a few things too, vehicles... such a pain!

But, but, but..... he can't get bees until after next winter, huh? And, there are probably tons of goats in milk right now! And, if you save money from purchasing milk it could go toward the bee hive purchase. See - my argument makes sense, lol. (at least to me)
