I'm taking it that she refused to nurse again. I'd be all over a free goat except 1. we're in Colorado and 2. divorce papers would probably be handed to me the minute I walked through the door with another critter.

yep. bring in The Donald.. she's fired. honestly i coulda grilled... i mean... killed her this morning.

actually she tried to stomp and bite the babies so she's totally fired.

fortunately The Big Man rushed down to the feed store and got some nibbles.. i mean.. nipples and both took the bottle. of course i had already milked Debbie out so we couldnt just latch them on....and we couldnt wait anylonger. i'll give them another feeding here in a little bit.

of course we dont have any idea what we are doing with the bottle feeding! and most of the info is about full sized babies... so we laughed when we saw to feed them 8oz. i guess we're making it up as we go.

the hubby said bottle feeding would be just like when we hand raised our kitten... but she lived in my bra for the first 5 days. sure i'll take one for the team but there is no way a goat is gonna ride around in my bosom. i have to draw the line somewhere!

the good news is that the little ones are really vigorous and both did big pee's right after we fed them. i havent seen any poopin yet but we have them in straw so not sure how we'll watch for that.

for heavens sakes... if its not one thing its another.

i'm off to meet security. we are cleaning out Nibble's desk and she has to hand in her badge.

to be fair, she did milk really well this morning......but there wont be any severance package or placement assistance. we'll tell her to write if she gets work. so its $20 and a bus ticket for her!

Have you given any consideration that Nibbles might be going through Post Partum(sp) Depression? If she is, then she's clearly off the hook. In fact she might sue you for cause and you'll end up keeping her in the lap of luxury for the rest of her life. (How long do goats live?) :hu

just my luck that no-good-nick would raise a suit! i need to get the lawyers on this. i'll rally the legal team (the ducks).

dang goats!

maybe i'll treat her badly and she'll leave... yeah... there you go....i might have something there. i'll have the ducks start drafting a separation agreement - she'll be happy to sign our non-disclosures and non-competes!

but first, a demotion, then i'll move her office, and give her the worst parking spot. thats a start......

ha!

You know, there are some that believe that eating the placenta will help prevent PPD. Maybe she should have eaten more. :sick
