So you roll your pants up also
SOMEONE i know, who shall remain nameless, actually used a bungee cord to hold up his shorts today. so i said to him, Honey how can i be married to someone who is such a nerd?

and then my husband just laughed at me b/c i've been known to use baling twine for lots of thing.

ha!

thanks K - the goodwill is kinda far from here.. but maybe i'll give it a whirl.
:)

Hen - i know i'm a bad patron. dang! i guess i'll have to do laundry b/c i keep all the change i can find in someone's bungee-corded-shorts.

and thats all i'm sayin about that.

Its all a racket as my mother would say, just like girl scout cookies. (She said that too.)
until the day i figure out how to grow coconuts in TN and make homemade Samoa cookies, the Girls Scouts will have my faithful participation in their racket! i buy a TON of boxes and put them in the freezer to be strictly rationed... i'm so NOT a sweets person, but those cookies are like crack.

i refuse to spend money on a bee suit. they are SO expensive. but sometimes you really need protection, especially with new hives. my solution? duct tape around the ankles of my jeans so bees can't get up them!

oh, i've also been known to make mud/snow covers for shoes out of plastic bags and duct tape.

that's totally fashionable, right?

Oh what memories that brings back. Mom always wrapped our feet in those thin dry cleaner bags, then put our second pair of socks on before our shoes when on when we played in the snow. Kept our feet toasty warm. ('Course we had a hard time walking with all that junk on our feet.

Or a VERY GOOD patron! I swear we used to completely SUPPORT our local library branch by paying our overdue fines! :p

As for the money in the laundry thing ... I have an OLD Tide container that hangs beside the washer on a cord. It is marked "Mom's Hard Cold Cash" - "Turning the Tide Against Poverty" ;) All laundry money goes it there and has for years. I dump it when it gets heavy and I usually have saved around $20.00 or $30.00 by that time.

Now to address all of you skinny minnies out there. What IS the matter with you all? Don't you know there is NO WAY to lose weight without diet soda and diet pills!!?

No body can possibly eat bacon, ice cream, and under tree peaches and lose weight!

It just goes to show how stupid most people are and how brainwashed the general public is. You go girls!!

Do NOT under any circumstances mention to my DH that duct tape and bungee cords can be used as fashion accessories! It has not occurred to him on his own, but should he hear of someone else doing it..... that would be permission to do it himself.

oh of course i know you're funnin' it up with me!

i think i found an article that said what each family pays in taxes to support the library and when i read it i was all: WHAT!?!?

and now i use them for everything.
:)

plus....free is my favorite price!

SOMEONE suggested that bungee cords would make a good pair of suspenders for my falling down shorts. HA!

FF - i keep thinking i'll make a million if i create the Ohiofarmgirl's Diet and Workout Plan! i could even start a camp! ha

rule #1: quit poisoning yourself with microwaved food that come out of a box
rule #2: pull on your boots and come and work with me.

that Julien/Julianne (??whoever on biggest looser) aint got nothin' on me! she wouldnt last a day here. ha!

but it is sad - one of my pals proudly told me that she eats ONE tomato, with salt, for lunch each day.

sigh......

on the other hand, i have a pink oxhart 'mater that surely weighs at least two pounds!

:)
