Wasn't it beautiful today? I opened the windows. Woot! I think I'm high on fresh air :ya The critters were so happy to be out in actual grass :D

Come on over OFG, we got Chinese food tonight from a great place that's not run by Amish  Oh man I think I need to skip a few meals now...and tomorrow I'm quitting the junk food and sugar. But not because it's a new year. I don't do that. :bun

WE got to 50 degrees here today! We just polished off the shrimp here and started on the baked brie. OMG!! I found goat brie at the grocery store and baked it with apples, wine vinegar and maple syrup! Totally yummy......

howdy framingfowl!

so here was our big New Years eve excitement......

for the last couple days The Insane Cat Posse has been gaga over the kitchen cabinets. so you know what that means - mice. so we pulled out some drawers and they have been glued to Whats Under There.

so there was Nicholas.. poised to strike..... and then ... like grey lightening he pounced!

and i started screaming and The Big Man lumbered in there saying nothing was happening.. until he picked up Nicholas WHO HAD A MOUSE IN HIS MOUTH!

so then there was more screaming and i involuntarily climbed up on the couch screaming at him to GET IT OUT OF HIS MOUTH. the dogs thought this was great.

TBM marched Nicholas and his prey outside and came back in. and oh boy was Nicholas mad mad mad. so we gave him some tuna for his efforts and now the hunt is back on.

and then we ate nachos.

i have a feeling this is going to be an interesting day.
*turns around to see Nicholas peering under the dishwasher*

We have a mouse by the dishwasher. Xena noticed it last week. Now Zeus is on the prowl. He will climb inside the dishwasher if you forget to close it :p

It's only a matter of time before he gets it.

GO KITTIES!

 We had a mouse in the house a bit ago. Hubby does not like the cats, but is fine w/them as long as they stay in the basement. Then, he saw a mouse run across the living room floor.

First thing we did was to check in DD's room. She has a pet mouse. (Did have 2 but one died.) Her mice were in their cage. So, he let the cats up. Rerun wouldn't come up. Up until a couple of months ago, she was extremely shy and I was the only one she wouldn't hid from. Dust Bunny was only to happy to come upstairs. She sat in the living room w/my hubby-and watched the mouse run across the floor. I think she agrees w/Garfield-show me a cat who's a good mouser, and I'll show you a cat w/bad breath. So, the cats were banished to the basement again. We know from experience that a regular trap doesn't work. So, hubby got one that was supposed to squish the mouse inside. He set it and we went to bed. Well, we caught the mouse, but the trap didn't work the way it was supposed to. The mouse was caught, but not dead. And, it was not happy being where it was. And, there was no way I was going to squish it. So, I took the trap w/me when I was going out to the farm, stopped where there were no houses and let it go.

Good morning and Happy 2011~ I hope it brings more good things for you!
I love your mouse story simply because I have found myself involuntarily on top of furniture in the presence of a mouse before myself. :p We get them from time to time and our Nemo is always the one to let us know. We'll find him staring at a particular cabinet or under the stove and it's time for the traps.

ROFL Deb!!! My cat is a great mouser.

OFG... why were you screaming that he caught a mouse? Isn't that a GOOD thing? *confused*

Amira loves to catch mice. She hasn't realized they are food. She breaks a back leg and then plays with them until they die from the stress. Then she brings them to me to magic them back to life. And when I throw it away she goes hunting again.
