whooot! very cool, SD! maybe i'll give 'em a try. the corn husk thing is just puzzling.. maybe i have some out in the chicken house.. just kidding!

so

today is cold. there is a lot of snow. no one is happy except the dogs who think its their best day ever. and its ridiculously cold. current windchill is -4* and it hasnt even started yet.

i got up early (just before dawn) with the silly idea that if i took the dogs out i could get back in bed and go back to sleep. HA! it didnt work at all but i got some good snuggles from Little Mo.

but i was glad i went out b/c the moon was spectacular in the early light! it was hanging like a dinner plate over the pond. of course my crappy little camera wouldnt have gotten the shot but i was glad to see it.

today there will be sloth, sloth, and more sloth. punctuated by periods of eating nothing but oreos.

that is all.

I want a slothy day!! :barnie And I want to stay home and snuggle on the couch with hubs while the snow falls outside. BUT, there's no snow falling and if it was snowing hubs would be at work. :hit

AND, I think I'd like to try to make some tamales!! I have masa that I bought for making corn tortillas, but without a tortilla press it's hard to do (more work than it's worth), so now I have a way to use it up! I am thinking some canned venison would go well for the filling. Yum! And I think our podunk Foodlion sells the husks thanks to the hispanic population around here! :weee

Well I don't know about the person you saw Henrietta, but my husband and sons wear flip flops and shorts in the snow all the time. They are crazy and don't drink at all except Coca Cola. They swear they are not cold. Now we don't live in Minnesota, but I'll be wearing snow pants and boots and a ski parka when they are doing this.

Some people just aren't cold.
Oh I know. We see it here too a lot. This was just extreme and caught my attention more than usual. I guess you kind of had to take in the whole scene.
Wasn't saying anyone who undresses (lol-that is supposed to say 'underdresses!!!) in the snow drinks, honest!

Stay warm OFG. They tell us that cold is headed our way. We've got your snow right now....

Dace, send that warm east!!!

I don't make enchiladas.....I'd love your recipe!

I love the sauce from the tamale recipe....I've made it now when I wasn't even making tamales.

We could seriously drink it. No wonder I'm gaining weight.

We had chicken "enchiladas" last night - aka cook up some chicken (or thaw out the shredded rooster meat here), cook some cream cheese, milk, chopped jalapeno (frozen here), and cheddar cheese (finally went to the store), and mix some of that with the chicken, wrap the chicken in burrito shells and put in a dish and pour the cheesy sauce over. More cheese on top and bake! Nom nom nom.....
