I don't have anything here except instant coffee (ewwww) and toast but I won't complain because it is actually balmy and warm here this morning. Hubby won't even let me start a fire, he is too hot.

Speaking of fires, you have almost the same woodburning stove. Except we have to keep the door shut on ours else it spits black smoke at us. You can leave your doors open?

That sounds sinfully, terribly cold! I would be a sloth too.

Good grief that is ridiculous cold! But I am loving the idea of kicking back in front of that fire...very inviting.

I emailed a guy on CL about pigs, but haven't heard back :( . We can't afford much bacon so I am making doughnuts!! (hopefully they aren't brick hard or bubble gum chewy..... )

booker, yes you may!

SD, sounds like a problem with your updraft - but i'm not an expert at all except for when i complain that its no longer 89* in the house and will someone PLEASE put more wood on the fire!

the only time we get smoke coming out is when we are trying to get a fire going in a cold stove and our furnace kicks on....which sucks air in, including the cold air from the chimney/open stove.

once we get it going we close the doors as its more efficient. but the other nite we were letting it burn down and i opened the doors, snuggled at the other end of the couch for maximum heat exposure....and fell asleep.

i dont think we can wait any longer to get the barnyard up ... we are headed out. you guys go ahead and start watching the previews.. i'll be back in a few minutes.

Enjoy your incredibly slothy day!

Wasn't the moon spectacular last night? Wow :ep I was loving it!

I am slothy at the moment, but not for long, got a weekend ahead. Sometimes I wish we had weather enforced slothiness.

I second Tanks offer to send ya some husks....or anyone else who needs some. We got them everywhere around these parts!

I have no idea what the moon looked like last night. If I had wanted to see it, that would have meant going outside and it got down to 11*. And, while that's not as cold as it was for some of you, it's still well below normal for this area.

Hey OFG, I don't have any bacon. Can you pass me some, too?
