I wish we could all be together for a cheese class! I mean, I know that is KINDA what we do, but I'm such a newbie at this and can't afford to waste all that milk. I mean I could feed it to chickens if it doesn't turn out, but we NEED to cut the cheese bad. :weee

I'd be happy to have just "average" weather for our area for right now. I'm tired of "record" anything.

Now then, if we actually got together, like in real life, how much cheese would actually get cut?? We'd be laughing too hard to accomplish much....

Would one of you hurry up and get a teleporter working?

I have so many people to visit and no way to do it.

A teleporter sure would be nice! Or one of us at least will have to strike it rich and fly the rest of us around in a helicopter.

We are freezing again here. I am still wearing pj tops, I didn't dare take the off this morning, so I just put a wool vest over it, a big sweatshirt and another winter vest. Then to go outside... I am so glad I didn't put my down farm jacket away yet!!
It is windy and rainy, coming from the northwest - Alaska. Hey BubblingBrook, I wish you'd keep your cold up there, brrrrr.
Oh well, I guess, I can take a little cold, if it means BubblingBrook gets a little bit of summer...

I am ready for some hot cocoa and homemade cookies and cakes, how about you all.... oh and with lots of whipped cream...

ha! are you kidding!??! i'm so glad to be cool that i'm gonna go and roll around in the wet grass! i have all the windows open and they were talking about "wind chills" this morning. sure i like summer but not 90* for two days out of no where!

SD - its just a recipe! look at you! you make soap and make bread - you can totally do cheese.

and

even if it doenst turn out perfect - its still cheese. my cheddar today did great until a last step. if i remember right its the same thing that happened last year - but you know what? that "bad" cheddar works like a Parmesan so it was even better!

do it! do it! do it!

ok fine. i'll do a post for you step by step. please stand by.

:)

'k, SD

here you go - cheddar making step by step:
http://adventuresinthegoodland.blogspot.com/2011/05/improper-cheddar-cheesemaking-step-by.html

and see how thrilled i am that it might not be a "cheddar"? i really am hoping for a more Parm-y cheese - i've been using last years Improper Cheddar as a parm in all kinds of stuff. last nite we grated it in a "Two Goat Cheese Polenta"....and then again today on top of a Three Goat Cheese Focaccia bread.

and really its not that much time - i just planned on doing stuff in the kitchen most of the day to baby sit it and stir, stir, stir.

for me, if you take away all the big, scary, foreboding cheese words - its really just a recipe.

easy peasy!
:)

Surely one of us has the talent to make a teleporter?? We make soap, cheese, laundry detergent, smokers; how hard could a teleporter be?
