Hey, I put in about 15 plants (lost count, the roots seemed to be multiplying in the bag as I thought I'd bought 10) a few weeks ago and saw three of them put up one skinny spear each! They are almost invisible but are so cute and exciting!

AND.....I have the rows all mulched already!!! I've never been this far ahead in the garden. I'm usually still scrambling in mid-late June. Well, I still might be......

I looked out my window the other day to see that the squirrel and the neighborhood cottontail were getting along like old chums... in the middle of my pea bed!! They had quite a lunch together.

they were just having a varmit get together at your banquet! that would have made a funny picture though.

well. here is a shocker. we are getting soaked again. i got half way thru half of the goats and had to run in the house because the storm came up suddenly.

poor Nibbles.... she's half full out there wondering why she couldnt finish her breakfast.

so

lots happening here... got a lot of work done over the weekend on our 2 sunny dry days. and then... well. our stupid beez swarmed (yay!) and we have their new hive all ready. yay!

and then they flew away.

STUPID BEEZ!

actually we tried everything we could to get them down from the tree - but they were 40 ft up.

then someone else called us and said they had a swarm in their tree. so we went over - and when we got there the beez were gone. so for heavens sakes. we already ordered a nuc of beez from someone local but they wont have them until july.

i'm go glad i got the tilling done yesterday - looks like we are in for a looloo this week - storms and tons of rain (up to 6 inches!) this week.

we'll be on high alert to keep the water out of the basement and to keep the creepy meats from floating away.

since i had to run back inside this morning i started watching the morning tv - has everyone been watching the coverage from Joplin???!! wow!

batten down the hens and secure your creepy meats - looks like another bad weather week!
