so no storm damage and the meats are still there. but wow what a wind!
we have just smaller branches down so we are all clear. but wow its totally soggy out there so i'm glad i got my gravel done yesterday.
the good news is that the few plants i got in the ground are skyrocketing - so at least they arent too wet.
i found a cute local shop and got some more seed taters and a few other little things. so i'm going to try and get them set in before the rains start again.
i didnt end up getting dinner done until after 10pm last nite. the storm was coming and our power went on and off a bit. but i was tremendously glad for our good neighbors. i called the mom on her cell (i knew she was at a school function) and asked if they wanted me to get their critters shoved in and close up their barn doors.. but the kids were almost home and she was right behind them. when she got in she called to check on me and as we were talking the power went out! so yikes.
but i'm so glad that we take care of each other.
it looks like we'll be sticking pretty close to home this week as the storms are going to be barreling thru until friday at least. i keep thinking about those poor folks in Joplin - wow.
look like the rain will be here in a bit - so i'm going to start another cheese since i wont be outside.
keep a weather eye to the sky, folks! happy tuesday!
My sisters called me from Lake County to warn me about the storm. But I had been watching on the internet, so had already brought in the container gardens. We had high winds, lightening, thunder, rain and hail here. The hail sounded like rocks hitting the house and windows. I saw some dead branches have fallen out of trees next door. Though I haven't been out to check, TR didn't see any big damage here. No power outages to reporrt either.
Quail- Whew - that was close! Glad you got through it. Looks like you have lots of firewood for the winter.
Ohio- That was sweet, making sure their barn would be safe too. You are a great neighbor.
