Yup, the weather's been nice this past week on the "left" coast. REAL nice!!! I almost had to put shorts on!!!! Except I was pulling weeds on my knees, that's not fun in shorts. They are predictig more rain for us and it is getting overcast. So I better get back outside and enjoy the sun while I can.

I'll be picking asparagus for dinner. doing some weeding and pruning with the assistance of an ever so helpful flock of chickens both big and small  maybe I'll even get my shallots planted finally

I'll be thinking of all of you, who are buried under that cold white stuff :plbb

Well tonite we had such a turkey trauma that I might just go out and throw myself down in the still-there-not-melted-a-cursed snow.

We got out there for chores a little bit late because the sun was actually out...and all of the little turkeys (late season hatch last year) had flown in all different directions and were all hiding HIGH up in the trees. WAY up in the trees, all over the property including on the other side of the pond.

There was crying, yelling, some paint ball shots, hurled buckets, thrown sticks, and a great deal of fist shaking. We ended up getting most of them down from the trees and in their coop. But at the last second, the last turkey came soaring over the house.....and over the trees...and was last seen flying away. Far. Far. Away. I think he was headed to town.

The Big Man tromped around in the woods as long as he could until it got too dark to see but we couldn't find him. I hope that little turkey makes it. I'll be up at first light with the dogs hoping that last one will be in the yard. Dang.

This day definitely gets an "F-" on all points.

And just in case all y'all Left coasters are wondering what all the complaining about.... here's some pix for you:

Oh hey - did I mention I've been working on a blog? Check it out

Great pictures! Sure looks beautiful... as long as one doesn't have to live with it :p

Growing up in upstate New York, I had enough to last me a lifetime. I don't mind visiting it once every 5 years or so, but I definitely wouldn't want to live the white stuff!!!

Your poor little turkey. :( I hope it comes back too. :fl That is just one big fat bummer. I would be so depressed!

Love the photos, but I am sorry about all that snow. I'm not even going to brag about the "pseudo spring" (thank you Drake for teaching me that term) weather we are having at the moment.

We had a two week long snow storm last year and I was so sick and tired of it by the time it melted 3 days later. I can't even imagine what you must be going through. :(
