Man, it is amazing how just a couple hours away a whole different scene. We had beautiful sunny skies today and it actually got up to 78 degrees. Only started clouding over a little tonight. I will have to watch the news and see when we get more rain. I know we have more coming.

But, we got our alpacas shorn today. Actually not my personal alpacas but all the girls that are here for birthing. So I'm thrilled that we got to do it in nice weather. Tomorrow we have 2 more farms to help with shearing and hopefully the weather won't be bad. It is already cooling down dramatically. We got 21 alpacas shorn today and about 35 alpacas to shear tomorrow. Way down in numbers from previous years but thankful that we should be done by about 1pm.

I know what you're talking about. We've had two major storms this week and more on the way.

Wow that is a LOT of work!! Do you get to keep the wool or does it go back to the owners?

I'm not sure I'm awake yet. No rain here but it's 36 degrees and I'm cold and my cat made me wake up so I wouldn't miss work. Actually so I'd feed her. I feed her when I get up to create a back up alarm system.

Off to work I go!!!! You guys sound like your productivity is much more fun.

OFG, we have an old fat cat named "Scott". He came with that name from the spca. ANYway, he sits by the old outdoor, beverage fridge ;) and waits for the mice to run out. No hunting involved, he just slaps them down with his fat mit. We call it the peanut gallery.

"Where's Scott?"

"At the peanut gallery.."

Happy Easter!
