This just occurred to me and I find it humorous. I lived in CA for a while and never actually felt an earthquake. I think it's funny that the first time I felt an earthquake was here in Oklahoma of all places.
Got a few things done today. My energy has been up lately so I have been taking advantage of it. I think it's that 2nd trimester boost of energy that everyone talks about lol
Picked up some of the black walnuts.
Took the broody off of her nest, eggs were COLD and found out that she had had two that formed into chicks but they passed away. she didn't do that hot of a job this time around, but she did better than the last time, so I wonder if I should let her set again
Cleaned the house!
Picked up firewood that we had out in the front yard for convenience purposes, and put it in the dump cart to put back on the pile later. It's getting pretty warm here so we don't think we will need it until next winter. If we end up needing it, we will just walk out there and get it
Weeded some areas of dead vegitation.
Cut back one of my rosebushes.
Cut back one of the Forsythia Bushes to make it the same size as the other one.
Gearing up for building the garden and planting seeds.
DH still hasn't decided for sure where he wants to put the garden , but I may have talked him into temporarily putting it where the huge pile of fallen limbs has been sitting for a year Let's hope so. It will be less expensive that way.
Got my texturing supplies ready to go for tomorrow:
One of my friends will be coming over tomorrow to help me texture this really long wall so that we can get it done in one go which means no texture seams!
I can see all of the stuff that we still need to do, and I am getting excited about it now since it is getting so close to spring! I want to get out there and get it all done!
We worked on the wall of hell today. I will call it that because for some reason this wall has given us aaaall kinds of trouble. We have mixed and remixed texture, sanded the wall down, TWICE even after painting once(this was a couple of months ago), and still, still it produces bubbles when we put the texture on. So this wall takes us longer than any of the other walls that we have done. I thank God for my friend that is willing to stick through this with me, because we only got 10 feet of the wall done. I say only, not because I don't recognize the accomplishment, but because the other 10 feet of the wall took us hours longer than this 10, and we had to scrape it all off and start over. I don't know what it is with this wall. We've thought of air temperature, we have played with the consistency of the mixture, It sill bubbles and takes twice as long to do.
She's coming back on Wed to help me finish.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it's not a textured bubbly train.
LOL dacs I wanted to get sooo much more done, but the sun when down on us, and it began to get too difficult to see the black walnuts only by the light of the motion light out back.
We're so far so good. The 40+ winds that have been blowing all day long are wreaking havoc on the coop roof. The shingles are peeling up!!! DH is up there right now trying to fix it.
The severe storms haven't hit us yet. They're still a ways away. We will see how they progress here in the next couple of hours.
Went out and picked up trash along the perimeter of the property, and checked out how my prospective wild blackberries were. Got to get my exercise some how Looks like I will have some more blackberries this year than last Took the two of the little ones with me and they really enjoyed it. DS enjoyed it especially. A lot of the fence line is buried in some trees and he really enjoyed being able to crawl into the woods and pick stuff up for momma. Kind of like a treasure hunt. It was time to go in and get ready for dinner, and he didn't want to come in, and just started wailing. So daddy took him and DD out on the trails on the back part of the property.
My mulberry bush is starting to get leaves. I really hope it produces fruit this year!
We went to Home Depot the other day and got two grapevines, a Dwarf Jonathan Apple Tree, two decorative pots on clearance, and some flower seeds.
Tonight for dinner we're making Alfredo chicken pizza with homemade crust
