I just haven't felt like writing lately. I have had the blahs for several days. I've barely been on SS lately. I think I have cabin fever. Today seemed to pull me out of it a bit though. We had ice/sleet/snow last night and all today. Having it go past the early morning here in Oklahoma is rare. Usually the sun comes out, warms it up, and then it melts :( But it didn't do that today!! :D

I made some pork chops and red potatoes with rosemary and onions in the crock pot today. :love We took the kids out to play in the sleet/snow so they could go sledding. We have a lot of hills on our property, and they thoroughly enjoyed finally getting to slide down a real hill....without having to drive to get there :( This is the kind of thing that we moved to the country for. :weee

Jim came in and told me that the hill to the side of our house is awesome. When he says something like that about a sledding hill I listen, since he grew up in upstate New York and the Mtns of Idaho.

So I'm tempted to give it a try myself :plbb

My starts are growing like weeds, and I'm thinking of giving it a shot and actually trying to put them in a bigger pot and see what happens. I'm pretty sure that they won't do that great, and they're probably on the wrong track to begin with, but I think it would be cool to experiment with them and see what happens, just to see it happen ^_^ this will tide me over until I can plant something that will flourish.

Got my Amirugumi egg shaped chick made. I need to add the face, but it turned out pretty good for the first ami that I have done. It's a little lumpy, but it's made with :love

Glad you are feeling a bit better. I was in a mood like that the beginning of January. I finally got over it.
Sledding sure sounds fun. We have plans to get out and build a snowman today. That is if the weatherman is correct and it gets over 20 with no wind. I'd love to have a small hill for sledding. There's an area out back that my DH thinks might make for good sledding. Haven't tried it yet.

Your plants sound like they are flourishing. I'd go for the bigger pots. Now is the time to experiment. Let us know how it goes.

Pork chops, potatoes, rosemary and onions - sure sounds yummy. Nice simple comfort food.

I think I will go for the bigger pots. :weee :weee Now all I need to do is keep them away from our kitten! :he

Took the kids sledding today on our property. It was a lot of fun, and the kids really loved it. I asked my husband if I should try the "awesome hill" he mentioned, not knowing which one it was, and he said, "you leave the ground." oooh that hill. Nevamind  Got some great pics today, I'll post some later...rather I'll have my husband do it...he's much faster at it than I am. I did go down the other hill though :D It was fun, and apparently my memory is faulty or I have never been down a snowy hill before. I think both are true. I was not prepared for how fast I went down the hill. Aaaaaannnddd the land keeps sloping into our tree line....so I almost ended up in the trees and blackberry bushes  Only did it twice. That was enough fun for me for one day. But next year it's on like Donkey Kong

The chickens looked at me like I had delivered them into the hands of evil when I opened the coop door. They looked at me, looked at the snow, and ran around the coop in circles. They would not come out. And I left the coop door open while we were out!! Two of them did come out, and that was our cochin cockeral, Ike; and our little Bantam RIR Pullet, Poochie.

Ike came out, crowed, went back in, came back out, crowed, and went back in and stayed.

Poochie went out, ran around in circles, ran up to me probably to have me pick her up, ran around in circles again, went to inspect a mulberry tree, got picked up and loved by dd, then went back in the coop. That was all any of them would have to do with the snow.

Edited for spelling

Sledding is something that I do envy about colder regions. It's hard to remember the last time we had enough snow to sled in, maybe 8-10 years ago.

We do have a couple of sleds, stored way up high in the building loft, I think. We hook them up behind 4 wheelers. Pretty fun, until you get "roostered".

Glad you had some fun and did it safely.

We usually get "sleddable" ^_^ snow 2 maybe 3 times a year. Some years we get a few more "good" snows, but most years we get less. It's been a long time since we have had a 6 inch snow. This is the longest that I can remember it staying on the ground. Usually when it snows here, you have to get out in the early morning and get your snow activities out or it will be all gone. Monday was also the first day that I ever remember it snowing during the day...even as late as 4:00 PM!! :ep

DH couldn't find the cord or the card adapter to upload the pics so we will have to find those, then we will upload the pics. We are always misplacing those. :/

We are going to go to Target and Walmart and see if we can find some sleds on clearance this year. We need a couple more, at least one more.

I don't think our WalMart even carries sleds. :idunno

Ours special orders them when they know that winter weather is coming in. They can order them and get them in there in about 3 days. Same with extra de-icer, snow shovels and things like that. I've notices that Target on the other hand carries them every year, and usually seems to have them seasonally, like other winter products.
