We don't have to have legislation to ban GMOs, we don't need legislation speaking about the dangers. We just want to KNOW what we are eating. If we choose to support GMOs at the grocery, that is our choice, if not, we would then have the freedom to not buy those that are so labeled.
You hit the nail on the head. Give me the facts and let ME decide.

If they let us decide, they would lose SO much money. It is obvious to me that they know that so many of us won't buy the garbage whenever we can avoid it. Otherwise they would proudly label it. It is quite frightening.

Hmmm.....maybe I should talk to my farmer neighbor about planting a small field with a heritage variety of field corn as an experiment....I'll have to start some research on how much I can use for my pigs and calculate the amount I use for my poultry and see how much I can buy from him to make it worth his while.

Create demand, create markets, and vote with our dollars. I'm trying to figure out where I can lecture locally on using whole grains for animal feeding to create more demand. Sounds like a thread idea.....

Absolutely, Free! It IS all about the money. My conventional farming husband who go organic in a heartbeat or 3 if he knew he could make money at it. It's a scary transition time. Organic, for now, is the ONLY way to avoid GMO and Monsanto.

Great idea for your neighbor! Farmers need to hear loudly and clearly that people really CARE where their food comes from, that it's not just a few "nuts" anymore who think about what they eat. :)
