Ohhhhh, I get it now. And this class is offered at your church huh??? I would not want to mess with any of your parishioners. ;) I met a Dad who has kids at our soon to be local school. He has all kinds of fire arms. I think we are going to plan a Mom's night our to the range. He said he would teach us the ropes.

That sounded funny!!!

How is everything else going??? Kids all good??? Baby is probably all over the place by now. Still being spoiled by her big brothers I bet. Congrats on the weight loss!!

I have a couple dresses on the sewing table right now. Trying to get my girls a couple done for Memorial Day BBQ. I should probably get moving on those. :barnie

Have a great day!!

Over 20 people took the CCW class offered at my church (DH took this class). I think at least 20 people already have their CCW permit at my church...I am guessing because I know of at least 10 personally that already had it before the class. I am taking my CCW at my dad's gun club. I should qualify as an expert marksman after my class. I have 7 more classes left with two hours of shooting on the range each night. One night is going to be a personal protection class. They are having two police officers come in and attack us...VERY hands on...and we have to do all we can to hurt them and get away. Oh I can't wait for that class!! All of the instructors are volunteers but they do ask a donation for the police officers to help cover their medical bills because they have been hurt several times!! Everyone in the class has their own one on one certified instructor with them while they are on the range.

I tried to give the baby some oatmeal this morning and she acted like I was poisoning her! LOL!! She is definetly a la leche baby! Only mommy's good stuff will do! She is TOTALLY spoiled!! She is 16 1/2 weeks old now.

My youngest boy, AKA 'the boy child' around here, is turning 7 tomorrow!! Where has the time gone?
Our long slue of birthdays has started now. DH's was May 12, the boy child is May 22, Mine is June 3, then 9 yo is turning 10 July 8th, then 11 yo will be 12 on July 16th. Then we get a break until Sept 10th when my oldest will be 14!

Remember my DH calling Bill S. about the softball game...well we had a sit down meeting yesterday that when well. Bill S. asked Pastor Jordan (there is a link to his music on my blog and he is the youth pastor) to sit in on the meeting. Which I think was a very good idea. Jordan did agree that there needed to be rules set in place....like if you did not PAY you do NOT play! Therefore Wyatt should never have gotten to play taking the spot of an actually team player on the field. Jordan also agree that there was a major lack of communication on Bill S. part because I thought Ron was still in charge and he is not. Ron is now only in charge of collecting the money, recruiting, and passing out the schedules. Bill S. and Karl are now in charge of the game. I had NO idea about that and even my DH said that was news to him because he had just talked to Ron earlier and Ron still acted like he was in charge....plus Bill S. had left in the first of second inning of the first game so why would I think he was now in charge?? Jordan also agreed that there just plain needed to be rules! Jordan did say to me that Bill S. IS the coach and whatever he says goes and that I am supposed to just bite my tongue and live with whatever decisions he makes while at the game...but he did not say that I couldn't call and give Bill and ear full after the game! ;) I guess I will believe that things have changed if they call a softball meeting and put some rules in place and if I see those 4 guys that got to play both entire games sitting the bench a couple of times.

I have not done any sewing recently. I really need to get the girls some summer boutique outfits made. I have so much yummy delicious fabric it is rediculous!

Betty and I have decided that we ARE going to a sewing convention in Harrisburg, PA in September regardless if my mom wants to go or not. My mom keeps him hawing around about going. It is a 4 hour drive so we are going to get up super early and make a LONG day trip out of. Betty was supposed to leave for Africa on a missions trip the Monday after the sewing convention but that is now being pushed off until January because of medical issues with the missionary family in Africa. The family is my Pastors daughter and SIL, Pastor Jordan's sister. They need to wait until Damian (the SIL) can go back with them as a translator.

Pam - Good for you for breastfeeding. My daughter and I stopped nursing at a little over a year. She wasn't really asking for it other than to comfort herself at that point. We had to wait longer to start solids though because of family allergies. Even then Lily didn't want to eat baby food. She wanted tiny pieces of real food.

Thank you! Breastfeeding is going super good this time! I stopped with my soon to be 7 yo at 6 months because he did not want to latch on and I ended up with mastitis. My 4 yo DD weaned herself at 10 months because she started walking at 8 months and it was way more convient for her to use a sippy cup and run around a drink when she wanted to.

I forgot to say in my big long post... I am dehydrating 3 pounds of ground meat. I hope it turns out good.

CCW classes is something that I have wanted to do for a while and just haven't. It's great that so many people took it at your church.

I mention wanting to take classes and everyone looks at me like I'm walking jello or something. DH is all for it (he has his) so I just might do it.

I just pulled my 3 pounds of ground venison out of the dehydrator and it looks beautiful! It filled two quart jars! I want to try ground turkey sausage next so we can have it for sausage gravy and biscuits.

After college I lived with one of my friends and her parents both worked for the government. Once a month they would take Friday off and we would go out back to the "firing range" and they would lay out all their weapons and let us girls pick and choose what we wanted to shoot. My favorites were a 44 magnum and 357. I like revolvers :D

I grew up around guns and hunting so I learned to shoot at an early age. It is a really good stress reliever when you've had a rough day!
