Well with the help of Paw Paw's little helper we managed to get the deep freezer cleaned out enough for the sweet corn.

Chickens got some frozen treats. They will love me extra long time now

I caught one Paw Paw I caught one! - June bug sure does love baby chickens.

I use a yard card / she has a wheelbarrow. Wife made she has one to help to help Paw Paw

Thanks to the help of my granddaughters, this seasons corn is put up now.

All this great help has got me very tired -:lol

I'll try anything once...except for dog or cat...or bugs except maybe termites. I hear they taste pretty good and gosh knows the world needs less termites! LOL!

We've never done creamed corn but we have cut it off the cob and canned it. It seems to loose some of it's sweetness when canned. We definitely prefer freezing husk on. After it's defrosted a little the silk comes right off quickly with running under water.

Yep, I like to freeze in the husk too! Easier, quicker & cleans well, as you say, when using. I like to do some creamed but, not a lot of it. Didn't grow any corn this year, got garden going late. Next year.......

When I make cream corn, I freeze it. When canned, it just doesn't have that garden fresh taste, more like store bought out of a can. I never froze it in the husk before. I may have to try that!

She just loves chickens expecially the baby ones. I've been teaching her how to take care of them also.

Did you notice those black boots she wearing? She calls them her "chicky boots" I bought the smallest pair I could find and they are still way to big... My wife bought her pink ones that fit her but she won't wear them because their not black like Paw Paw's Chicky Boots. Grand kids are the best!!!

Shhhh... Don't tell... but in November she's getting 6 of my buff orpengton hens, a rooster, chicken yard and a coop for her third birthday. It's ok - I've already ok'd it with her Mom and Dad

Honesty freezing husk on is the best way we found to store corn for the long haul of winter and have it retain good flavor and sweetness. There's a little extra added bonus of having husks for tamales also but we might have tamales maybe 3 times a year so that really doesn't count.
