i thought it would be...i know the wire is relitivly cheap but i fogured labor woudl be high...
wonder how much it would cost to have someone come in and sink some corner and gate posts...mabe that would help get the welded wire a little tighter...
i know i can pick up 100ft of the 48" welded for $60 at TSC right now...
mabe a trip into corinth is in order next week...this is definatly an important step.

in other news...

Dad got to choose dinner tonight which was and i quote "something tasty"
so i took a risk...
Pork is difficult after surgery but a meat dad used to like alot...he hasnt been able to have it since though and i couldnt at pork for the longest time untill i started cooking it differently so i figured it was time to give him a try with my method...
and he LOVED it, cornbread stuffed porkchop with what was left of cindis potatoe salad, the last of my garden peas and some summer squash.
DELICIOUS!

and in more news, since dad has already started telling people...
they put an offer in on a house today...its all on shakey ground, they offered low (willing to go up but lower than we think there after) and its 100% contingent on dads job ect...but if things go well theyll be moving about 10 mins aay from cindi lol. Dad has fallen inlove with the area, the people, the attitude of folks here, ect. hes sold lol. mums liking it too, not uite as much as dad but she feels so comfortable!

AWESOME on the house bid :woot

I can help you sink posts sis. All you need to get it tight is a come along or a fence puller, and the fence puller can be homemade. Wire is really not that big a deal. I didn't have one on mine and got it pretty tight, but need to make a puller to tighten it anyway. We have been doing fence for a few years, and I can show you a couple tricks to get things tighter. I won't charge ya anything more than a couple cold Sprite's and a hand with it ;)

I have a VERY sturdy construction set of post hole diggers. Darn things will dig to China  We have clay here too, and it's like cutting hot butter with those things. We just need to let it dry up a bit first so the clay won't clog and weigh them down.

What about landscape timbers? DH uses them for the corners/gates on our fencing - our regional store (Menards) just ran them on sale for 97 cents a piece! We bought a whole mess of them! :D

Those do work better than regular fence posts. Nothing really helps in this clay though, it's gonna shift...tis the nature of the beast ;)

Yeah, we have sand here - you can walk up and kick em around :p He usually puts in a cross brace, I tell him it's just because he wants to look all fancy and stuff

Cross braces are the way to go in our soil, and cementing them in.

yeah i was thinking of cementing them in...
ill probbaly just got 100ft at a time and t-posts for now and then once ive got things more squared away start setting proper wooden posts for corners and every so often for extra support once thats then done, any fencing i do have by that point can be pulled out and re tensioned and set with the t-posts i have betwen the wood posts. by that point i might have anough fence to do the whole permimeter

ill get there, slowly but surely.

up at 5am this morning to see mum and dad off, they left at almost 6am.
bitter sweet but they'll be back one way or another...
dad said if they havent already started the moving process by september time he and my uncle will be comming down for a week on the motorcycles...
but were all hoping he gets this house...he realy did fall hard for it.
after they left i climbed into my own bed and slept for anohter hour and a half or so...needed it but still not feeling completly rested up...so todays probably going to drag some.

todays plan is mostly tidy up, get a few things back in their proper places ect.
got some jet star and rutgers tomatoes to go in once i pull the last of my peas (kinda hoping to give them a few more days though soi can replant in the fall :p)
my romas are starting to show signs of ripening (have a few starting to turn orange :D so thats exciting
and one of the 2 raspberries has a little shoot comming back from the roots! 1 out of 2 isnt bad considering i thought they were both duds.

im hoping today or tomorrow someone wil be comming to take another bunny (repeat buyer, she just bought a black otter bun about 2 weeks ago and now wants her sister too) so fingers crossed there, that will leave me with 2 does and a buck from rowans litter to find homes for.
bluebells litter is starting to become quite active and explore, pics of those babbits will be comming a little later today.

thinking im going ot measure out 150ft of string and see how much bigger the girls pen woudl be when i add 100ft to the 50 ive got up right now, and i can see where i want to run it to and from ect to give them the best acess to some long weedy grass and brush.
but yeah...not much special going on...life wil be returning back to the general swing of things now and im quite ready for that to happen lol.
