she did a good job with him and i think just reassurance that it was deinfalty not something physical helped her out, she seemed sad but a little relived after i took a look, and he wasnt grinding his teeth and his eyes were bright and aware so im certain he wasnt in pain either...its hard esepcially when they have become long term PETS too and he was certainly a sweet mushy boy. hugs to you and DD. its always hard even when we know its comming.

If you want ill do apartial trade on the broken blue chin for the incubator if he is indeed a he when hes ready to go on that incubator..we can figure it out later if it works out :p

SUCKS on the warning but thank goodness it was only a warning! i hate that, its one thing if your speeding or acting reclessly ect but not stopping long enough at a stop sign (or them asuming you blew through) drives me batty...happend to me once, i stopped at the stop sign but it was too far back to see on comming traffic thanks to trees on both sides and a hill and curve so i rolled forward after stopping so i could see and once the coast was clear off i whent. cop was sitting behind the bank hidden by rees and assumed i blew the stop sign because i stopped at the actual LINE where the sign was...but because he couldnt see me i MUST have not stopped...
(im an OCD driver and im TERRIFIED of confrontation by "authority" figures too due to the social anxiety...the shere thought of going mroe than 5 over the speedlimite or running a red light or something FREEKS me out...i even COUNT when i stop at a sign to make sure im there long enough)
definatly could have been worse though and im REALY glad it wasnt.
he seems like a good boy...hope he belived me when i told him id be taking care of him if he hurts her...ive grown quite fond of that young lady of yours :p

today was pretty "mellow" dad wanted to take a look see at some guns...found one he likes but its a hand gun, cant drive it into state so hes trying to find a licensed dealer he can have it shipped to in CT to pick up from. stopped at walmart, and hobby lobby, i now have a nice set of paint brushes, mid line brushes, not true artist brushes (at $5 a brush that wont be happening unless i start back on canvass AND they sell lol) but nice mid weight nylon brushes, good bristle in a veriety of shapes, should work out nicely for the flower painting. and a small plastic painters palet so i dont have to use a peice of cardboard as a pallet anymore lol. this ones acrylic so completly washable after use! MUCH better! lol.
Will need to pick up a bottle of extender once ove got the gourds prepped (my acrylics are canvas acrylics so a little thicker than the craft acrylics usually used for this tpe of painting style...but theyll also go further with a little extender/thinner added :)

got home, got some stuff done, look out my back window and theres Lilly at the fence...aparently when i shut after myself this morning i mustnt have hooked the gate properly and by this afternoon theyd poped the bottom corner lol. both came running when they saw me though (the biggest reason i wanted to bottle raise my girls, in an emergency all i have to do is go out with a little feed and give em a shout and they do come running)

I do need to expand their pen though so sometime in the next few weeks ill be buying a 100ft roll of fence and some T-posts...il expand, then next mont do the same again and expand on what ive just expanded on ect untill ive got it where i want it for now...the nice thing about the t-posts is later as i get the land cleared and moved around more i can just up the fence and move it, no worries about perminent posts to be dug up ect.

oh well daddy is going to give me a lesson with my new little rifle (just a 22 chipmonk but its staying and strong enough to do damage to predators or people!)
wont be out there long, backs giving me some issues...
cant wait to get back in my own bed :p the futons ok but its just NOT a propper bed.

well...my first time HOLDING a gun let alone shooting one...
i gave myself 12 shots of .22 to "get a feel.
all 12 hit a 4" target...(the targets were old teacup saucers about 4" diameter and a 2" center "bullseye")
11 of the 2 shots were within the 2" center bullseye...

thank goodness because im a TERRIBLE aim when it gomes to throwing ect LOL. was fun an im pretty pleased with myself so the chipmonk is staying and im calling her "squeeker", he showed me how to clean and oil her too
ive given myself a year to "play" with her then im probably going to persue my handgun permit, figue single woman alone in the middle of nowhere...might be a good thing to have.

currently nomming on the absolutly DELICIOUS potatoe salad that we were sent home with last night...:D (im going to need the FULL recipie including your relish and mayo recipies LOL.)
going to throw some hotdogs on the grill in a little while...we had a late lunch so were not super hungry yet.

Well we're pretty much family now so I think he took you serious...he better have :old

The bunny deal is over, he is buried by her favorite dog out back, with his very own cross marker made out of bricks so the animals won't dig him up. :(

I'm actually debating on getting out of rabbits, so let me think on that some more. I wouldn't even have the ones I have now if not for eldest DD just pretty much dumping them in my lap last year when she decided she no longer wanted them. I had completely sold out a month prior. I kind of got back into them with the Rex's, but haven't been having successful litters lately either. I hope Rowan has some nice babies! Either way, I need to talk to DH and DD and see what they think about it. I'm sure we could work out something though. If our finances were better I'd just give ya the thing  I want to see you get established out here with your animals almost as bad as I want to get myself better established! Almost :p Hehe...

*sigh* one day sister, ONE DAY, we'll be making it more comfortably ;)

How's next Monday looking on a materials delivery? I am going to Jackson that morning with the neighbor. We're going to Sam's Club, get a list ready too ;) I know I'll have you a pallet or two, possibly some decent 2x4's and plywood. I may have some leftover tar paper and NEW shingles  if you have a use for NEW shingles. Let me know sis. :D

wait, shingles come in "new" ? i thought they only came in "partially reclaimed by nature" LOL. ican always use new ones that i dont have to pry apart, and of course pallets wood, ply ect is ALWAYS good...
id like to put an arc together for either a 1/2 a doz chickens or a trio of turkey before the fall comes in and fencing to expand the goat area (so if you come across 5ft t-posts too) if i can buid an actual coop too that would be great. :p
need to build some meat bunny pens for growing out too.
Sooo many projects, i know you know how that is.
but mondays are good, i generally dont do much on mondays.

and i definatly understand on the bunnies...some projects work, some dont so you just need to figure from there...go with what not only works, but what you love too! :D

That'd be cool :) DH really got along well with your dad, and hubs is NOT usually the social type. He talked more the other night than he has in a long time, and to a "stranger" no less! And I love your mom :) I like good neighbors, and the more the merrier!!!!!!!!

dad liked him too...says to me "i thought you said he was "quiet" " LOL, told him, he is unless theres "chemistry" lol, they just had plenty of things in common :p

well mum and dads visit is comming to an end...
there packing the car up tonight and planning to leave early in the AM (around 5:30ish)
its bitter sweet, ill miss them, but ill be happy to get my hosue back and my routein back in order...
itll be hard to see them go but my back is going to be happy to have our bed back again (its SERIOUSLY spazing out today)

and ive got a feeling it wont be long before they're heading down here...dads just gotta hear on the job and then the "fun" can start. but im trying not to jinx it for them so no more talk of that untill things are a little more set in stone.

happy to have so much get done around the house too! its amazing!

Cindi...know anyone in the fencing buisness? ive got to expand the goat fence one way or another...right now ive got a couple of options, #1 buy a 100ft roll of fence and t-posts and do 100ft at a time...option 2 is barbed wire, but i know i cant tension it without some heavy duty broner posts as i want 9-12 strands (to keep them in and mroe importantly the neighbors dog out.)
so im looking for someone to come give me a quote on fencing about 1/2 an acre (the back open pasture area) in in barbed wire. eventually that area will be my orchard and berry patch so the fencing wont be wasted when i move the goats eventually back further into the woods....and if there priced right ill be having them come back to eventually do all the perimeter and cross fencing...
that goat fence is definatly my next big outside thing, got to give them more room and get them acess to the brush so they can do what i got them for...

i also want to finnish up the kitchen now...another coat of paint on the walls (i have the paint), the over fridge cabinate to paint and the backsplash to do...

hoping to paint the bedrooms and bathroom next month and can focus on the inside finnishing touches over the height of summer that way.

this month also starts my gourd painting adventure...any money that comes in from them will go towards the "getting things done" fund.
by new years i at least want the start of my orchard, the goat pen expanded some land clearing under way and either a small coop or arc built for chickens in the spring.

The welded wire will be MUCH cheaper. The CHEAPEST barb wire fence job I have ever seen/heard of was 50 cents per foot PER STRAND, 9 strands...that's some serious money! A half acre would be a bit over 400 feet perimeter. $4.50 a foot at 400 feet..$1800. Definately go welded wire. TSC in Corinth had a bunch of wire on clearance today. Not sure, but they may have some good welded wire on sale too. I was after chicken wire ;)
