Ruby looks like she loves shedding the lamb-look! She looks totally different!

Jasper, minus the 5 o'clock (+ a few weeks!) shadow looks more like 'himself' :D

Dozer looks... like Dozer

thanks, i actualy realy like grooming the dogs, some days i think "hey i could make a living" but then my back offers me a reality check...i just cant stand/bend like id need to to do more than 2-3 dogs a day...

today is going to be a fairly lazy day...
got to run to the store for milk...*grumbles* because i didnt even think to pick that p while i was already down that way yesterday *gah*
but other than that, no real plans, might fill my bucket with soapy water and start working on cleaning the gourds off, got lots of small ones that should make some cute bird houses, at least 1 broken one that i think im going to try carving instead...im thinking votive holder as its not huge :D
once ive finnished cleaning them, ill harvest al the seeds i can out of them for planting.
i may even try putting some in now...given the average last frost date ive got another week or 2 before its too late for them to mature in time....and they do like it HOT.

i lost the fuzzy lop yesterday, REALY frustrated since he had an ice bottle and usually curls up next to it but for some reason yesterday made no attempt to sit neer the bottle. so thats it...
ive decided im going to try and sell my mini rex pair...i love my opal buck and if i dont sell him before weekend i might breed bluebell back to him before hand...should give me 100% broken and solid Opal babies, and if so ill keep 1 or 2 of the biggest girls as thats my FAVORITE color and when bred back to standard bucks i should get back up to size in the first gen.
I need to sell either rowans last himi doe or the meat mix haystack...haystack is closer to breeding age...but im stil debating if i want to stick soley to rex or if having a meat mix doe in the group is a good idea...itll depend on who iget any interest on...whoever sells first is the one that goes.
but the mini rex and 1 of those 2 young does need to go.

the wood from that bank of cages should put me ahead of the game for building the guinea house will only need a roof and floor (im thinking of ding a wire floor using the rie from the fronts of those hutches which will also save money) all ill realy need is 1 sheet of ply some 2x4 pressure treated and some 1x2's for the supports and run. given itll be going inside the electric fence area for the goats ill just use chicken wire for the run aspect of it so it shoudlnt be too expensive to build if i salvage that bank.
the duck and goose ouse s going to be moved out of the current rabbit area and im going to colonize the girls. once ive got the guinea and goat stuff sorted out. shouldnt be too big of a job, ill run electric on the outside to keep out most predators (mabe run a line on top too) will lay down chicken wire on the inside of the fence 2 ft up and then 2 ft on the ground along all the edges, and put up a fence behind the current hutches to keep them from getting neer the foundation of the house. the hutches that the boys are in will stay as is and undrneath will be a feeding station plenty of room under there for a big bowl for water and one for food and something to keep the hay in and off the ground.
the hutches the girls are currently in will be modified some what to make it into 4 seperate "houses" for getting out of the rain, ill also get some larger steralite containers which im going to try and at least partially bury as nest boxes. build a "grow box" (an 8x8 box with fencing ontop that will be seeded with mixed grasses and clovers, they can graze it down but not kill the roots) and an 8x8 dig/cool box.
i may then end up runing chickenwire over the rest ot prevent any digging...itll depend. but i think itll be easier to keep them cool in a colony setting where they can sprawl on the dirt than it will trying to keep the hutches cool. i wanted to colony in the first place, so why the heck not. ill keep the 2 uper hutches forgroing out babbits, i can pull them at 4 weeks and seperate them out and handle them so theyll be tame pets by 6 weeks...

this is the plan in my head at least. i need to get the goat fence and guinea houses done first...but the colony i think is going to eb a better way to go for me.

once i eventually get a barn built i mght revisit the plush lop program least in a barn i can run fans and misters if i need to...but right now its about making money back and paying for itself and with the reacent losses im majorly in the hole, so im not interested in putting anymore money into the smaller breeds right now.

and yeah, its alost lunch time so i should go ice the rabbits and then go get a gallon of milk and have some lunch...

If you can only do a couple of dogs a day, could you do it out of your house and set your own hours? You do good work.

the posibility would be there but i dont think the clientell is in this area, its very rural im 30 mins away from either of the 2 closer bigger cities, and its mostly pits and hounds in these parts...not alot of call for a groomer lol.

You might be suprised sis. At the minimum you could run an ad in the paper and see if anything pans out. I know lots of folks who take their dogs to the groomer around here. The folks across the street do, and my neighbor down the street does too. Maybe i'll put a bug in their ear for ya and see if they'd be willing to give you a shot, and if so, you'd have some nice referrences ;)

pass my info over if there interested have them drop me a message or something :D

ive done NOTHING today, neighbor needed a ride to his sisters, his sone reacently got a new car but somehow managed to blow out a tire on a pot hole (this is odd because the roads here, even the rough back roads are in AMAZING condition to what im used to so he must have been going some speed to clip any of the pot hoels around here hard enough to blow out his tire) they put the spare on and aparently that blew, turns out when they blew the rie they bent something that ended up rubbing on the spare and blew that too...(so yeah MUST have been going at some speed)
says hes going to give me gas money next week so i dont mind so much (and he has in the past so...)

made up a gallon and a half of peach tea to go in the fridge, i need to start getting more fluids in me...and i dont like plain water so this is how im going to do it, its the only wayi can realy think of of getting enough fluids in me. (and its herbal, no caffine)
so thats cooling right now some before i put it in the fridge...
been swapping out water bottles like crazy on the rabbits today, will have to tomorrow too, the good news is though temps are supposed to go down a little on tuesday and im hoping the tropical storms at least send a little rain our way...

i think ive got the guinea house planned out...the little peepers are growing at a deacent clip but nowhere neer as messy as chickens, flighty though, just sitting by them makes them huddle in a corner lol theyll probably grow even better when i can get them out on grass eating bugs and such...

i also have the new colony/rabbitry planned in my head, there wil need to be some money invested but i think itll be worth it. im also thinking of investing in some shade cloth to try and give that whole area even more shade epecially over the boys hutches.

im hoping the temp drop on tuesday will be enough for me to be able to get out there and do some weed wacking/measuring...i realy need to get this goat pen set up for them, itll save me money on feed and save me time and skeeter bites every morning from cutting them fresh brush each morning)
want to get it done by the 9th if i can...

tomorrow is monday...its supposed to be HOT HOT HOT tomorrow so im thinking itll be clean the gourd day, having my hands in a bucket of cold water all day should be nice lol.

i need to find a place to go swimming...Cindi, any idea what the rules are at the selmer city pool, ie is it only for town residents ect?! i need to get some real excersize in and a pool would be divine! will have to go check it out and see if theres any kind of schedual ect...
one day ill have my own pool...lol

tomorrow will definalty be a day of lots of water bottle alternating for the bunnies.

not sure what ve got for dinner tonight, itll depend on what ive got defrosted by that point...

and why is it im fine al day but about 6pm the heat suddenly starts getting to me and i feel tired...wtf?!

Just no diving is all the rules they have  It's $5 a day to get in, but you can stay all day and bring a lunch. They have lockers to rent, and showers, but I don't truly recommend either. It's an older community pool, but it's better than sweating your tail off ;)

at $5 a visit im going to need to find me a swimming hole or something instead LOL.
wonder what the cost is for the YMCA...

todays plan is to pretyt much stay out of the heat, there saying 99 for the hgigh today with a higher heat index, (nothing compared to the 102 forcasted forlater in the week)
so im going to go check on the bunnies and give them fresh ice bottles, then grab my bucket from theyard so i can fill that up,
have some lunch and then sit in the shade and scrub some gourds.
Got to do dishes at some point today too so i might do that imedaitly after lunch THEN get to starting on the gourds.

Tomrorow is only supposed to be 88 so im going to do some more weed wacking and try to get the corner posts in for the electric fence (so i know where im standing on amount of wire im going to need...) but then the temps are heading way back up...
we need some good rain here before i want to tackle those grounding rods lol. right now my back yard is 1 giant hard clay brick...but since when i start putting up the electric ive got to work fairly fast with it...they will have to go in BEFORE i start the fence wire ect. i need to have everything in place so i can take down their current fence wire and hook up the electric all in the space of 1 day since their old fence is going to make up Part of the new fenced in area. (that 50ft is going between me and the neighbor as a back up)

so i want to have the grounding rods in, the insulated wire on and everything ready to go so all i need to do on fence day is pull up the wire fence put that alng the property line, run the electric wire and fix the step in posts in place and then hook it up...ill have to tether the girls out that day to get it all done but theyll have so much more room when it is done. then i get to "train" them the fence is bad and thats going to be the hardest thing for me i think lol.
