I agree, sounds me you are blessed with good neighbors. I have good neighbors but not that good
Sounds like an excellent bunch of neighbors. That's how we do with our neighbor (Gran), me and mom take care of the garden, then she preserves it. Then we all eat together, and Gran cooks most of the time. On the weekends Mom cooks because of her weekly work hours. Yep. All my neighbors said I was crazy for raising my own pig but as soon as he was in the freezer they all wanted to know when we were gonna have a BBQ. I said as soon as y'all get some meat together. I'll bring a couple of pork chops.lazyday said:Let me know if you find anyone. On this forum it seems a lot of people like the All American, I have my Mom's old Presto 18 Litre along with a second hand (harvest gold!) Presto that's a little smaller--maybe a 16 quart. I would like to get one that is reasonable in price as well. It looks to me the aluminum ones are cheaper, but it is not worth my money if it can't get the job done. I plan to can quart size mostly. Thanks, in advance for any information and education you can give me.

Ditto on the glass-top stove experiences--mine are both very easy to keep at pressure: I start on High, then once the canner has vented I slowly turn it down to one notch below Medium (#4 on a dial with 10 numbers) and can leave it there for the rest of the processing time.ORChick said:I got the Presto 23 quart about a year and a half ago.
