Sounds like you had quite a day! And it's only half over... Just keep thinking how nice it is all going to be at your place after installed.

Yep, I cannot WAIT to start with putting the posts and wire up here. Looks like I can re-work some of the wiring around the layer coop, put in a few more posts, and end up with 3 or 4 pens for separating out breeds. ;)

Gotta finish the front on the duck pen, first, so I can move all the waterfowl back over there, so I can tear down the current run on the layer coop....soon to be breeding coop....:p

See, I just thought I did a lot around the house... Whew, just reading your journal makes me tired, but also inspired :D
Cute sheep! I always liked the way sheep look, I don't think they are stupid at all, or rather, they are like any other animal in that some are, some are not.
Doncha love getting a great big load of cheap stuff you can actually use! I think you got a good deal. Even if the collection of it made you a bit... frazzled :barnie

Thought ya'll would like to see a pic of my Mandarin duck pair! In the background of the pic is Chirpy, she has 3 chicks hiding under her (not shown) and she's in with the Mandarins because I had to move the turkey poults into her pen.

Then today we framed in the front of the duck pen, FINALLY! All I have to do is put the wire back on it, which I hope to do tomorrow, and put a latch on the gate.

For a reminder, here's the before pic of my duck pen....

Isn't that pallet gate just AWFUL! and look how "run down" the whole pen looks!

Here's a couple pics of the "face lift" we gave it ;)

And look at my new gate! Isn't this just awesome?! Thanks to Becky, who gave us the idea and the pallet topper, my entrance to my pen, IMO, almost looks elegant!!

So tomorrow, hopefully wire will be up, ducks and geese moved over, and I can start taking down the wire around the other coop!

Aly, it certainly does look neater and sweeter! I like those big sturdy posts and the height feature! Your ducks are quite beautiful!!!

How's your pony doing? Still in love with Ernie? ;)

Thanks, guys. I love the Mandarins! Have been wanting a pair for about 2 years now, didn't really believe I'd actually get a pair! Now I have to come up with names for them....because we won't be eating them...........

We had hoped to put the wire on the duck pen today, but we were rained out, so we are hoping maybe tomorrow. I don't mind that it rained, we really needed it, I just wish we didn't lose a whole day of working outside as a result.
