I just saw the pics of Ernie and Emmy! She looks great to me! Very smooth lines for a mini. And they seem to have fallen in love, which is half the battle! ;) :D

All in all, I think it was a good trade, considering all the dividends!

The baby would be a mini mule though. You'll just have to tell the friends that want a mini donkey that it would be a mule instead!

Ya'll are cracking me up.

Morning chores are taking me longer in the mornings now since I have added a few more ducks, and now Emmy. The actual feeding/watering is only taking me about an hour, but I've added on that 20-30 minutes of walking Emmy, so now it's taking me about an hour and a half.

This morning, my mom called twice during my morning chore time, sounded quite flustered that I wasn't readily available to the phone. I explained to her that my morning routines have changed.

I'm trying to put myself on a schedule. Get up at 6, have coffe, start animal chores at 7am, from 8-8:30am work with Emmy. 8:30 human get breakfast and I have my second cup of coffee. Maybe hop online for a bit. lol

Emmy was much easier to get close to this morning. She was actually standing at the fence watching as I fed/watered all the poultry and rabbits. Then when I grained the calves, she seemed to swish her tail with impatience. Ernie gave her her cup of grain, and then we walked up to her...............and she only slightly jumped! She didn't RUN this time! So we snapped the lead on her halter and took her for a short walk.

I haven't been able to convince her to come out through the gate and walk with me in the yard yet. I think it's because we have a board across the gate area up top (was to keep the goats in) that spooks her. We have decided to take that down today.

Ernie was able to reach through the fence and pet her today, too! I didn't pick up her foot this morning, but I did pet her down her legs, down her back, under her belly....haven't ventured to the hind quarters yet as I have seen her kick!

I was told that mini mules are adorable, and also great for pulling carts!

I'm so glad that everything is going well with Emily! Sounds like she is really warming up to you guys. Sometimes all that is wrong with a supposedly "problem" animal is that it has had no attention or love or decent treatment in a while and once they get what they have been craving you just can't seem to get rid of them! Keep up the good work darlin'!

How are things with Emily today? I am sure with all the attention she is getting there she is probably following you around like a dog by now.

Emily was waiting at the fence for us this morning! She was right up there with Chase and Boss. It was cute.

I didn't put her on the lead, but we patted her for a bit while she had her cup of grain.

We were busy with other things today, and lots going on here. I'm exhausted.
