Ok, so I promised to share some pictures, figured I do it now while I have a few moments to do the resizing and uploading to photobucket.

Here's pictures from our visit at keljonma's. They do have a lovely home, and are truly wonderful friends!

I'll start with the important pictures, first......HER PANTRY!!!! :gig

Here's the First Ladies tucked in for the night. :)

This was the sunset from that evening when we got back from Linesville Spillway. We were standing in their back yard.

This is the Bully among the First Ladies (I do believe her name is Frances?) She was quite pleased with herself for pecking me in the back :gig

This is Lou and I am not sure who else (keljonma will tell us LOL) I know Lou because she was Ernie's favorite. Lou is a Black Jersey Giant, and thanks to Becky, Ernie now has two himself. He named one Lou immediately in honor of his favorite of the First Ladies.

Ok so then after Ernie was released from the hospital and we got home we did nothing much. On Friday I walked around to check on all our critters and I got these pictures.

These are the newest baby bunnies. They are about 2 weeks old I think? I'd have to go back through my journal entries and see when I posted that they were born. They doubled their size in the 4 days we were gone and have their eyes open now. These are 3/4 Lionhead and 1/4 lop. Mom was 1/2 Lionhead and 1/2 lop, dad was pure lionhead. They are absolutely adorable!

Here is Gwen with a couple of her new babies.

Ooooh, nice pics!
Love your baby lionheads. I have one too. We bred her earlier in the year but it didn't go so well. She went way overdue - I thought maybe it didn't take, and then she started pulling hair. Well, a week after that we found blood under her cage and then a couple days later she had one baby - a pinky, I think it's called - a teeny, tiny dwarf accident. She had it on the floor, not in the box where the nest was. Then two days later she had another on the floor, then 2 more, each a couple days apart. They were all full size and looked like they could have lived. She attempted to clean them all, but kinda seemed confused about it. So I don't think we are going to try her again, even though she seems lonely. Boy that was a downer story. :p
So glad you guys made it through the surgery. You have been through so much. :hugs

Good thing I only let you get pics of the somewhat organized side of the pantry. On the left of the bread machine is my $2 dehydrator and to the right a half empty bottle of homemade vanilla (I used Courvoisier that time).

NOTE TO SELF: if QA is coming to visit, make sure you actually *clean* the pantry before she gets out her camera! :gig

Sam and some of the First Ladies in the hen house ready for bed.

That picture of the sunset is great!

Yes, our flock bully is Frances, our Delaware.

On the half wall - Lou (Jersey Black Giant) Dolley (Golden Campine x JBG) and Rachel (Partridge Plymouth Rock). How sweet that E named one of his ladies after one of ours. I hope yours have the same great mama hen traits Lou has.....

QA - Glad you and E are home. Hope he is feeling ok.

Great pics. Love all the babies. Especially the turkeys. I never knew they looked just like baby chicks. LOL I don't know what I thought they looked like but that was just not it. So you have educated me today.

Wonderful pics! kels chickens are so glossy and fat! Beautiful! Aly, those bunnies bring back memories....I bet your kids are having a ball with cuddling them.

I love it when folks post pics, it makes it so much more real!

Hope Ernie is feeling good? Pain getting better? Did you get a hospital bed?

Ernie is doing well. Waiting to hear back on a free hospital bed that was on freecycle...have my lysol spray on stand by if we do manage to get it :p

Had a friend call this morning to see if I could drive her up to the auction because she didn't have a car this morning. Ernie said he was Ok with it, so I asked my nephew if he'd mind helping Ernie for a couple hours and he was. SO I got to spend the morning at the auction with my friend, and managed to score a couple good deals!

I got an electric Craftsman buffer/sander for $6...for Ernie...also got a Handgun Guidebook for Ernie $1

THEN I got an entire box of books, puzzles and stuff for $3!!!! I didn't want everything in the box, but it had American History books for children in it, and I totally can use those for homeschooling!

AND I brought home four Naked Neck chicks!!!!!!!! :celebrate They are absolutely adorable!!!!!!!!! I got one that looks like it's a blue/black, a partridge? I think, a white one, and not sure about the last one's color....might be a buff?

My friend got several good deals as well, in fact, I'd say she got some better deals than I did! :gig

It was a lot of fun, though. Now that I've slacked the whole morning away, I should be spending this evening getting some stuff done outside!!
