Several people have contacted me about Emmy, but no one has made an attempt to actually come and get her.

Haven't sold goats yet, either, but I do have a couple of maybes. One or both of the two wethers will go to the auction on Monday.

Yesterday went Ok, I guess.

I ran over to check on Becca's mom because I wasn't aware that she wasn't home all day, and I had called twice and got the machine both times. I was a little concerned (ok I was just flat out worried!) because she's diabetic, and last time she had by accident got shut into the chicken run (and had left the phone in the house!) but thankfully had been able to get the gate to the run open.

I was relieved to find her mom just fine. :p She's been visiting with an Aunt and not home all day. Boy, I was glad! LOL A little embarrassed, but glad that she was fine. I'm going over this afternoon to change out the waterers, etc. for her.

Last night had to take Ernie to the ER. His leg has been swollen and hurting and red like it's fevered. They did a catscan, and the Dr. said that it showed nothing, but they think he might have MRSA! So at 1:30 this afternoon, we're following up with the surgeon they referred us to, and he may have to have it drained. They also said it *could* just be a pulled muscle swelled up, as our oldest son had tossed a football on Sunday and hit Ernie in the same spot on his leg. Ernie had woke up the next morning to the swelling.

This is the same leg Ernie's had trouble with before and after his back surgery. I'm not sure I believe he has MRSA, but that ER doctor did a darn good job of scaring us!

Right after he left Ernie's cubicle, he goes into the next cubicle and tells the patient in there, "You might have MRSA!" :ep Now, I know there's HIPPA stuff, etc, but we saw this guy when he came in and they were talking loudly about his symptoms. The first Doctor that saw the guy next to us said, "You have a cyst that needs draining" but the same Doctor that saw Ernie told him, "You most likely have MRSA, we're going to put you on this antibiotic."

Now does this make sense? They tell us that MRSA is because we over medicate and throw antibiotics at everything, so let's give you a good all around antibiotic, just in case, because we really have no clue what's wrong.

MRSA is contagious, MRSA can be fatal. I did a lot of looking up on MRSA last night, and Ernie has NONE of the symptoms. Plus, the only way to know for sure if a person has MRSA is to take a sample and grow a culture!

They didn't take any samples in the ER last night, but that Doctor is diagnosing all patients that come in as "probably having MRSA" and referring them to a surgeon.

Well no wonder people think MRSA is going around!

I know you are scared and worried. I pray that it is just something minor that can be relieved quickly. :hugs

Good grief! Why do doctors do that, tell you all of the 'mights' and what ifs and scare you half to death before they even know anything themselves??? :he

I hope it is something simple and that you get the chance to :smack the er doctor.

If they didn't do a tissue or nasal sample, I am not sure how the doctor determined MRSA. It seems kind of irresponsible for a doctor to make such a comment without some evidencial proof.

We're praying for the best.

Well, we're back from the doctors and all he has is a pulled muscle. I so wanna :smack the ER doctor. The doctor we saw today thought the ER doc was off his rocker.

So the surgeon he saw today gave him a Rx for ibuprofin (sp?) to help with the swelling and he goes back on the 22 for a follow up just to be sure it has healed. She said it's just a torn muscle, and as long as there is no internal bleeding, he'll be fine.

It was a little funny today, though, because he was telling the Dr. how worried and scared he was about the MRSA and he didn't want to give it to the kids. She assured us that he does NOT have MRSA and she was just in disbelief over the ER doc.

All I can say is, WHEW what a relief!
