Girl, Titan is BIGGER than your living room when he lays down! He is 6' long!

I think the visit might be too much for Titan. He is just figuring out his "guarding" routine here.
I know how big Titan is! We've "just" enough floor space :p

You're still welcome to come, with or without Titan, and you can stay or not, with or without Titan. ;)

You two are way funny. Looks like you have had a crazy week. I must admit I couldn't figure out why so many of you were ga ga over ducks. Ok so now I see. Those birds you picked up are just gorgeous. Very inventive coops, I like that little pool in the run section. Do they get out to free range as well??

Glad to hear Ernie is doing well. Looks like Keljonma will pick up the slack this weekend. Geesh I wish I had more SS friends in my area.

have a great weekend, you two and stay out of trouble. :D

Glad to hear the good news about Ernie's leg. Tell him to take it easy - those things take a while to heal!

Well, pack up Titan, and come on down for the weekend. We can find a place to put ya up for a night :) You can help me haul water and fill all feeders/waterers tomorrow....

And we can muck out the cow barn, clean the coops, etc.

I can make a list.

Then on Sunday I'll feed ya :gig
The whole week-end is tough, because I am leaving Titan at home. But I can spend the day with you tomorrow and get some of these things done. :D

My NY Sis In Law just called. She is in town for a friend's wedding and is insisting she see me tomorrow. Well, she wanted dh, but since he's away - I'm stuck with her. I hate to tick her off since she still owes us money... :/

So I am really sorry to say this, QA. But I don't think I'll be able to make it tomorrow. ;(

QA, something you mentioned about Ernie's adventures at the hospital caught my eye. You said the dr. gave him a prescription for ibuprofin. Unless you have full insurance coverage for prescriptions, go buy a bottle of extra strength Advil instead. It's EXACTLY the same stuff, at half the price or less.

That's OK! :) I understand about not wanting to tick off inlaws, especially ones who owe money!

We have already dropped off the 'script, but I'll keep this information in mind. The most we pay for a prescription though, is a $3 co-pay, and even that depends on what was prescribed.

So yesterday after Ernie's Dr. Appointment, we came home and I started our dinner.

Dinner was going to be a couple hours cooking, so we fed/watered our animals and then I popped over to Becca's to help her mom with water/feed of Becca's animals.

When we changed the geese/duck water, I also check on Lucy the Goose, as she's been limping. On the phone Becca told me she suspected bumblefoot, but when I examined Lucy I couldn't find any physical signs as to why she would be limping. Linus on the other hand was furious at me for catching Lucy and came running at me hissing and honking. Lucy herself was quite pleased when she was released.

Today we've a ton of stuff to get done. I need to finish clearing out the garden spot since it's pretty much done (and what wasn't done the ducks and chickens finished for us!). Then I need to muck out the cow barn, and the stuff from there is going straight onto the garden and will be rototilled under. Last Winter I used 1/2 the garden spot as my "composting" area. Everytime I had food scraps, chicken poo, or I cleaned out the ferret cage, the dirty stuff went straight on the garden spot. It was snowed on, rained on, walked on, and then rototilled under. Everything that was planted on that side of the garden grew much better than what was planted on the other side.

I also need to start shovelling out my compost pile and spreading it on the garden spot. We'll be spreading stuff over the garden spot all winter. Then, before winter really hits and everything freezes, we'll give it a good tilling. I'll keep piling it on through the winter, and when the ground is thawed we'll till till till...come spring will do a good deep tilling a few weeks before we plant.

Can't wait for next year's garden!!!! The spot we're working will have the crap fertilized INTO it. :gig

I just move the hennys to the GARDEN for the winter months. I spread any compost, spread leaves, spread straw and let them do the fertilizing and tilling for me. Works like a charm!
