I found myself looking as some very reasonably priced Suri alpaca the other day just because of your pictures. Now honestly, do I need another animal? But they're just so cute!

I have a Non-Alpaca pic

This is what the coop addition is looking like so far....

farmerlor, I'm seeing Alpacas really coming down in price. I read somewhere that it's really a buyers market right now for Alpacas.

The one local breeder that I talked to a few months ago has breeding pairs priced at $7500. That's $1500 for the male and $5000 for the female. She told me that she paid $30,000 for one of her best females! :ep I was like, "You could almost buy a house for that!"

So yea, it's nuts.

You should try to make felt! It is supposed to be lots faster and easier than spinning the fiber into yarn. I could think up LOTS of ways to use a nice thick soft felt. :)

Here's the soap and the card that I got with it. It smells and works better than it looks. Dh was really freaked out about using it but it is eucalyptus and he liked the smell so that got his foot in the door! And yes the fiber acts as an exfoliant and will shrink to fit the soap as it gets smaller. Pretty cool!

Edited to add...... cost $5 per bar

It is weird, to be honest, but it sure does work well!

The fiber is really soft and it makes the soap lather up a lot. My hubby can't wait for my mother to come visit and freak when she goes to take a shower! The kids even liked it....
