I can't believe Ernie will even let you near the auction house anymore :gig
Well, he only said no more birds. That includes any and all forms of poultry, ie. turkeys, ducks, chickens, peafowl, etc.

He didn't say anything about Large Livestock! :p And he STILL hasn't.

I think he's waiting for me to want more cattle!

The more recent Eddie Murphy film has a brief scene where it is walking in the background while Dr. Dolittle talks to the tiger in the cage. This is in keeping with the fact that this movie version was only loosely based on the books.
And the totally unobservant me, who has all 3 of the New Dr. Dolittle movies on DVD, now has to go watch this movie JUST so I can see the tiger scene! I've totally missed the pushmi-pullyu in the new one!

*off to watch Dr. Dolittle.........*

Girl, you are so entertaining!
Now is that guy a young fella or full grown? How big do they get? I know nothing about alpacas.
If you thought I'm funny, you should have seen my friend trying to get hers IN her pasture from the van :gig They'd get him to walk forward 2 feet, and he'd lay down! Then they'd spend 15 minutes trying to get him to stand...walk forward 2 feet, lay down! :gig After the third time they finally got him to walk (after my son ran up behind him and startled him and he jumped 3 foot in the air! ) and into the pasture. I was rolling with laughter.

She said, "Just you wait, Aly! I'm going to laugh my butt off when you try to get YOURS in the pasture!"

Well, the laugh is on me because she was really trying to talk me into trading her, letting her have the small one....I stubbornly kept to my pick, and now she doesn't want to trade because she can walk up and pet hers and I can't!

I'm honestly not sure of his age. Next week I plan to talk to the auction house and see if they can get any information on him from the previous owner. I do believe he is a young male, but if he's not done growing, he should not get that much bigger than he is now. The one my friend kept was only a small bit bigger than Job.

edited for typo.

More pics taken of Job this afternoon. :D

Since we foolishly let Emmy's lead rope go with her, we're temporarily using a dog leash hooked onto Job's halter to work with leading him.

Folk's, it's like having Emmy all over again! He's just as skittish as she was, and it took us 2 months of patience and working with her to get her to where she'd walk up to us for petting.

When Job runs you can't hear his feet touch the ground. It's like he glides across the earth. Very graceful, and so Oh I dunno, he's just like a dream! When the calves run it sounds like a thundering herd of elephants, but Job you can't hear him at all!

He is stubborn, too. If he doesn't want to walk, he tries to plant all 4 feet into the ground and pulls back. Thankfully I'm just as stubborn as he is  He did take an interest in sniffing us all over.

Here's a couple pics of Ernie with Job. Ernie is 5'11" to help give you an idea on how tall Job is.

Here's me with Job again. I'm 5'4"

I bent down to look him at his face, and he leaned his nose towards me to get a good sniff! LOL So I blew him kisses, which made him sniff even harder! :p

What a face! Great pictures.

I love the name change as well. I know you all will have him eating out of your hand before you know it. :)

Aly how do you know he is not going to lean forward and bite your little nose?

Seriously, he is beautiful!

LOL I had that same thought, Dace, but it was worth the risk! They don't have top teeth, either!

He does have the most adorable face.
When I was at the Harvest fair recently I had a long hard look at llamas.
I want one or two or three. Oops, better get more land first, so I can accomodate all those animals I want and a nice big barn.
We're on the lookout for a vicious looking dog to keep our Spike company and help her guard the place and some goats.
That's all we have room for right now.
