My goodness, Dace! you're up way earlier just to harrass me for pics aren't you?!

LOL

What, you think I've got nothing better to do than get up early, run outside, and get pics?!

Really?!

:/   ;)

Well, I do have better things (or rather, more important things) to do, but yea - I was up and ran out to get pics :gig

Here's the whole gaggle - a small gaggle, but still...lol

SebbieQuad.jpg

The one white goose was treated with blue kote because the lady's great pyr pup (who at 7 months old is the size of a pony!) was plucking the feathers out and "flossing" his teeth. That's why she chose to sell the Sebbies. She said she'd rather have sold the pup, but her husband refused to let the pup go, so she chose to let the Sebbies go when she saw that the pup had plucked that gal bald at the shoulders.

Which works out great for me!

Here's the blue goose - she's my favorite, and was Becca's favorite, too...almost had to pry her out of Becca's arms :gig

What was funny, when we got home, I asked Becca, "So, are you going to move out your Embdens to make room for Sebbies?"

She replied, "I dunno, because I have Pomeranians coming in April..."

To which I replied, "Yea, and I have Pilgrims coming in April..."

And you should have seen how FAST E's head whipped around! He looked at me and exclaimed, "You have Pilgrims coming?! Then you didn't need these geese!"

 :gig

I said, "Now just wait a minute, you knew I ordered Pilgrims! You were right there!"

He started laughing, so that tells me he was mostly just teasing, but after Becca left he did admit he had forgot I'd ordered Pilgrims.

So, we're discussing setting up hoop houses as geese shelters with pastured runs, so that I can have my geese separated and on grass and I'm planning on kiddie pools for their "ponds".

Just for fun, I took this shot of my pair of Blue Swedish. Just couldn't help it. They were standing so nicely, just asking me to.

I have one male and 3 females. :D

I'm so thrilled to have had the chance to add them to my small - er - is it small? - poultry set up.

What's funnier is, I had been contemplating ordering a pair of Sebbie goslings this year, but wasn't decided. And then BAM! these beauties are on Craigslist! Worked out well, I think.

Right now, there's a pair of Black Mute Swans (I think they're mute, might be Trumpeter) on CL....but they want $650 for them...No way could I swing that right now, but maybe if things go well this year, I could maybe add swans next year?! :gig

I think E would kill me! :hide

Your ducks are cute, I really love the Blue Swedish ducks. I wanted a few muscovy ducks this year but as we aren't supposed to have any in the city I have to wait until I get my privacy fence up:)

They should be fine in the snow. Everyone up here, us included, leave our geese outside during the winter. They do fine with an open lean-to filled with straw, no losses.

They are beautiful Aly! I agree - How can you NOT fall in love with that blue/gray Sebbie?! She is so pretty! They all are.
